APPEARANCE HEIGHT 5'11" WEIGHT 141lbs Kaname wears the traditional Hyuuga robes which consists of a white shirt with loose sleeves, matching pants, a dark navy grey cloak that hangs down to the middle of his calves which has the Hyuuga crest emblazoned on the back, and black shinobi sandals. He has grown his long black, hair into dreadlocks which he keeps up in intricate white headpieces called kenseikan, wearing one on top of his head and another two on the right side. He has also taken to wearing a white scarf as part of his normal attire and in his younger days even went as far as using it to cover his face during missions. He does not wear a Konoha headband but instead his Fingerless Tekko which cover the backs of hands each have a metal protector over them which has the Konoha symbol upon them and on the other side on his wrist the seal for the Summoning: Lighting Flash Creation jutsu. While going out on Missions his normal attire does not change much. Mostly he just dons a flak jacket over his cloak for extra protection and pockets. Also he tucks the loose ends of of scarf into the flak jacket to minimize the chances of it getting damaged. He has also began to lift the scarf up over his mouth and nose to act as a kind of mask which is not very useful to hide his appearance due to his intricate hair piece and white eyes which give him away as a Hyuuga. He also carries a Quiver on his back but keeps his Bow stashed away within a scroll that he does not need to unravel and keeps dangling from his waist for easy access. | ||||||||
PERSONALITY NINDO: "Secure the future of the Village at all cost" As one of the most influential shinobi still active in the leaf, Kaname feels that his actions represent the village as a whole and as such he tends to act in an aristocratic manner. Even before he was considered elite he was serene and apathetic towards other people, while this is mostly due to social awkwardness than actual coldness on his part. He is famously (or infamously depending on who you ask) calm, especially in battle. his indifference is said to border on the line of arrogance, and has gained a superiority complex when it comes to most people. Although he is not above admitting his flaws and letting others know that they may be better at him at certain things. Although mostly unnoticeable he becomes flustered whenever someone touches, or damages his hair. While keeping his calm he will look for any reason to excuse himself in order to fix his hair which could take anywhere between two minutes to two hours. It has become a personality quirk of his that he tends to judge people by the way their hair is kept "Do not trust a person who does not take care of their hair, for they truly care about nothing" is a part of his nindo he has only ever shared with his child. Kaname is very perceptive, which makes him fully aware of his own limits in battle as well as in social situations, Because of this he has a penitent for being right on the money whenever he speaks no matter the topic. This also gives others the misconception that he is a know it all, while in battle it suits him because his opponent might over think due to the fact that they believe he has figured them out (a tactic that works so much better for him because of the nonchalant way that he fights). Kaname cast a large shadow. Recognizing that it cannot be easy for those that get compared to him often does not stop him from trying his best however, Sadly, the way he does things always looks effortless and easy no matter how much effort he actually puts forth which causes people to think he got to where he is easily with just his natural talent alone. This is untrue as he is a very hard worker even though he was blessed with an abundance of natural talent, The only thing that does not come naturally to Kaname, that he only recently had gotten better at after becoming a Genin teacher are social interactions, He has never known how to interact with people outside of fighting. This had caused a strain in his social relationships as everyone pictures him to be cold, distant, and uncaring much like his father before him, which he believes is the main reason it took so long to invite the Hyuuga to Konoha. While this is not true he has not yet found a way to express his emotions comfortably and instead of being perturbed and awkward he comes off as cold and distant because of his grace and power, though he has gotten much better at this there are still times where he slips into his old way of interacting. Another reason others tend to think he is cold and arrogant is because another part of his nindo "ninja should only look for criticism not compliments" which makes him quicker to criticize than to compliment (though as stated before he does occasionally give out compliments). This is because he believes that a person can learn so much more from criticism than they ever could a compliment. This has caused a contradiction in the way that he thinks as he has become a perfectionist when it comes to his abilities. Causing him to think nothing he does is ever good enough. This mixed with his superiority complex makes for a very interesting way of thinking as he feels that even though nothing he does is ever good enough he does most things better than everyone else. | ||||||||
HISTORY Kaname was born thirty years ago to a time of battle and strife; although his father had quelled the infighting by killing his own father the time was still marred with death and destruction. This was called the era of the formation wars to some but to Kaname it was called his childhood. The Ten Tails having just appeared and everything that entailed just seemed like something that was always there to Kaname. The fact that each nation was scrambling to get their hands on and control the natural disaster was another part of life that was always there and was a normal part of growing up. The fact that he was pushed into becoming a Shinobi from the moment of his birth was nothing more than his duty to his clan. The stigma that most people would only live to see their late twenties was something that was just a fact and Kaname did not think too much about it or how he could try and prevent an early death for himself. Instead he though on his training and his skillset trying to become the best Hyuuga he could be. Whereas he had an abundance of natural talent when it came to perception and hand speed his actual hand to hand fighting ability was average, maybe even slightly below average. While this would not have been an issue normally Kaname’s high degree of natural talent made other expect more of him which left them disappointed. His perception was at such a great level that the members of the clan found it hard to lie to him even at such a young age he could use his Byakugan to pick up the telltale signs of someone who was bearing falsehoods. This skill was increased exponentially the he was trained in the ninja arts as well as in normal studies. It was due to his perception and phenomenal eyesight that his mother, despite the wishes of her husband, started training the boy in other forms of fighting. He begun to learn archery and excelled at it. However, the Hyuuga were known as close quarter’s combatants who excelled in their use of the gentle fist and eight trigrams style of fighting. While Kaname still trained his clan’s art he began to take a liking to archery and made it is primary means of fighting and surviving. During this time the other prominent clan of the nation, the Uchiha, were grooming a Shinobi whom they believed would one day grow into the next all powerful shinobi, this boy’s name was Issho. Isshō was the complete opposite of Kaname, who was as a Shinobi should be quiet, merciless and devoid of basic human kindness that would turn him into a good person. The two had taken very different paths to strength yet they both stood on the pinnacle of what it meant to be Shinobi within their age group. However, unlike Issho Kaname harbored a love for human life and its fragility. By the time he was ten years old he was considered strong enough to enter the battle against the ten tailed monster. Though still considered too young to fight the actual beast he would have to take part in the battles against the many clones of the beast that plagued surrounding villages. It was around this time that he started to make a name for himself and even was forced to fight other shinobi his age and some that were even older than he was. While his gentle fist and eight trigrams was his secondary fighting style it came in handy whenever someone managed to get too close to him s most ninja cannot fight when their chakra is being attacked. It was around this time that the two young powerhouses of Hi no Kuni met. The two soon became rivals and friends and pushed each other to new heights whenever they could whether it is while working together or training to be better due to hearing about the others accomplishments and not wanting to be left behind. Soon it wasn’t just the clans of each nation but the nations themselves that were combining their might to combat the threat of the ten tails. The five nations elected their strongest shinobi to the task of eliminating the ten tails once and for all. Many believed that if those five failed it would mean the end of the world. Kaname and much to his excitement Issho were among those chosen to help the Gokage fight the ten tailed menace due to his ability to fight on par with much older shinobi due in most part to his skill and perception. It was then that Kaname got his first real taste for war with the Gokage battles. It was then fighting with shinobi from all over that Kaname truly began to grow as a Shinobi seeing what other could do helped him find ways to use his strengths to cover his weaknesses. While he was no longer getting conventional training the constant fighting he was involved in was making him much stronger than training ever could. It was then that he began to show his talent for the traditional Hyuuga fighting style and even developed a new fighting form called gentle step that used the basics of the Hyuuga fighting style in a new way. This gained him attention from none other than the Gokage from Hi no Kuni. While his fighting ability had helped earn him the favor of such a great shinobi the real reason behind it was his insight and perception, which Kyoraku wanted partnered with Issho’s intelligence to aid the allied shinobi forces while training them both to become better. When apart Kaname and Issho were unrivaled in their age range when it came to combat and when together they had almost the same level of strength as the Gokage themselves. It was not due all to their natural talent and strength but because of Kaname’s ability to perceive and understand and Issho’s ability to strategize and use his intellect on the fly that allowed the pair to succeed where others, even those stronger than them could not. Their rivalry never died and Kyoraku sort of spurred it along as a way to make sure neither of them ever slacked off from training. Soon the two boys were known far and wide as the most powerful shinobi duo to have ever existed; their teamwork and efficiency when together became legendary. However the thing that always separated them was their view on the fragilty of human life, whereas Kaname thought it a beautiful thing and marveled in war and death Issho wanted to do something about it. Kaname joined in the shinobi world because he loved it as it was the constant fighting and wars allowed him to be himself without others judging him about his savagery. Although he had learned to veil his savagery with a coat of aristocracy Kyoraku remained the only one un-fooled and after a certain amount of time fighting and training together Issho caught on as well. However, Issho had never judged him cruelly and Kyoraku still agreed to teach him. Kaname underwent intense training with Issho under Kyoraku and his father Goh was incredibly proud of his son’s might as a Hyuuga and shinobi. Kaname trained diligently all with the hopes to one day inherit the title of the Hokage of the Gokage from his sensei, and to surpass Issho. Because of his intense Taijutsu training his whole life Kaname was able to skip the intense endurance training that Issho was being subjected to and while he did not have to undergo that torture there was another torture he had to undergo. He was stupid, the only thing he knew was war and fighting and although with his perception he could fake his way through a battle making it seem as if he had some kind of strategy it was usually just staying far away out of sight and reach of others and sniping them and if they managed to get close the Hyuuga fighting style was more than most could handle. Because of this the first step for Kaname was book learning, boy was so much of a warrior he could not even read or write and he was forbidden to undergo any physical and combat training until he smartened up as it would make him a much better fighter. After several months of book learning Kaname showed that he had a talent for all sorts of things as he became quite intelligent his IQ second only to Issho (still by a large margin). This increased his value in the allied forces as he was now able to fight like he did with Ishho when by himself due to being able to intelligently creating plans of attack and no longer just relying on his skill in battle and instincts. Issho began creating bonds with other shinobi while Kaname started looking for and finding weaknesses in other nations. Although united now he knew they would not be forever and used his new found intellect to form basic contingency plans for if the separation of the allied forces became violent. Because of the darkness in his heart Kyoraku knew that he would be the balance needed to make sure that Issho who seemed good natured would not be overrun. It was because of this that he too was allowed into the secret meeting of the Gokage. Where others in the meeting seemed anxious and scared of the upcoming battle Kaname was excited he had developed a new method to deal with the ten tailed based on his clans ability and the fact that the beast was made entirely of chakra. However, he would not get the chance to use his new jutsu as they came up with something much more incredible that Kaname felt proud to have been a part of no matter how small a role he played in it. The creation of all things jutsu was complex and Kaname was not smart enough to handle the theory behind the very first and only YinYang jutsu, although he understood the core concept and that fact that no one in the room was strong enough to single handedly use the jutsu themselves. They would need all five of the Gokage to work together in order to successfully pull of the one jutsu. Once used it pulled the ten tailed apart into nine pieces. It was Kaname’s job to battle the clones of the ten tails while this was going on and he did so admirably and even put to use his new jutsu to tame and use some of the clones for a short period of time while the jutsu did not allow him to force them to fight one another it did stop them from attacking in which case he could then use their bodies as shields and launch attacks that were not dodged or countered. Issho was doing his part as well and while others around them fell and died they knew they had succeeded when the Gokage had enacted the jutsu. Their fighting had given them enough time to use the creation of all things and pull off a miracle of epic proportions. Kaname was there with the Gokage as they lay dying from the exhaustion of their effort to subdue the ten tailed monster, he was among the few people to know what truly happened and what the dying wish of the Gokage was. While there were others there that heard it he was positive that he was the only one there that disagreed with what was being said and from the look on Kyoraku’s face when they locked eyes he could tell that his master knew what he was thinking. It was only the fact that they had fought and died so constantly that they were now strong enough to deal with a being like the ten tails and if they were to stop they would get soft and there would be no stopping the next catastrophe. Kaname was proud that his mentor lay before him dying on the battlefield it meant that he had lived his life and been strong enough to reach the zenith of combat to where he was met with a foe that was so strong that it took everything in him to defeat him. Kyoraku’s last words to Kaname was that there was evil in him and that he had to use that evil to back up the good in Issho or he would turn into a monster much like the one they destroyed today. Kaname agreed that he would always back Issho up and become his darkness as it seemed he was the closest thing to a being of pure light this world had. At the age of 23 Issho became the Nidame Hokage and realized Kaname’s old dream of becoming one of the Gokage but Kaname was happy for his friend as he had a new dream which was to make sure that the light in Issho was never extinguished by becoming his darkness. What happened next not even Kaname with his insight and perception could have predicted. Each nation separated from the alliance peacefully and went on to untie the clans of their respective nations and create something much more stable that would assure that the younger generations would never have to worry about things like an average lifespan of 25 years old. There were some who were convinced of Issho’s words (not easily of course as the clans were proud and honor bound). However, those that didn’t would be met with Issho’s darkness. Several members of the older generation needed more “convincing” in order to come around and it was those people that Kaname went to go “talk” to. Eventually, the majority of the clans would join Isshō and create one of the first shinobi villages; Konohagakure - Village Hidden in the Leaves. A year after the birth of the Hidden Villages, the Nidaime Gokage would meet for the first time in years to discuss the implementation of the Shinobi Organizational System. As a way to reach for their predecessor's dream of a peaceful world, the Nidaime Gokage would put together an institution that would extend the life expectancy of shinobi by double. While also ensuring stronger generation of shinobi altogether, Kaname liked the system as it ensured that each generation would get stronger in theory but he knew that if peace lasted too long the institution would get lazy and the villages themselves would get soft due to security and comfortability. Because of this he decided to make his own institute with the idea of making sure that no other village could plot against them this organization he dubbed the ANBU. Not long after the adoption of the Shinobi Organizational System, small disputes would break out between the nations yet again, and although no one would ever be able to prove it Kaname and his ANBU were right in the middle of it all. Seven years after Konoha was founded the Hokage got a message of some kind of beast terrorizing one of the villages of Hi no Kuni deciding to handle it himself both Issho and Kaname went to check out the rumors of the beast, Upon getting their they met a massive beast that resembled a fox, however, the thing that bothered Kaname was that the fox's chakra although not as potent was strikingly similar to that of the ten tailed beast. What more the beast had nine tails. After fighting the beast Kaname and Issho both realized that they underestimated the beast and barely got away with their life due to Issho unlocking an advanced version of his Sharingan as well as expelling black flames from his eye before passing out. Kaname whose eyes could see more or less everything around him as well as having fought with Issho enough to know what to do used the replacement jutsu to change places with with most of the flame. Because he was standing in front of the beast the black flames engulfed the beast. However, the flames had also affixed themselves to Kaname's right arm burning him. Habit alone had him expel chakra from the pores on his arm which saved his arm from being burned off. He used this newfound defense against the flames to mix the flames with his most destructive jutsu. Pulling back on his bow he let loose a combination jutsu he dubbed Blaze Release: Loki Helios. He did not stick around to see just what exactly the damage of the new jutsu would be grabbing Issho and escaping while the beast who Kaname suspected was more than just a beast had to contend with the attack. He rushed Issho back to the village in order to save him. The medic nin took him and also began treating his right arm. This was when Kaname realized that the jutsu had burned his bow to ashes as it was no longer in his hands. However, there was one good thing that came from the fight as Kaname was able to perfect his means of sealing a tailed beast which he thought he had perfected before the ten tails was defeated only to be shown that his sealing method was not strong enough to overpower a tailed beast for long. He was glad that his mistake in underestimating the beast did not leave his daughter without a father. | ||||||||
SPECIALIZATIONS: NINJUTSU: SKILL RANK:(C) SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Although Kaname has never had much of a reason to focus on Ninjutsu he did not abandon it altogether. Because of this even though it is his weakest specialty it is only slightly below average. The only aspect of Ninjutsu training that really resonated with Kaname is the the part that can be used within all other aspects of any other specialty and that is chakra control. He spent many years employing training methods best used for someone more versed within Ninjutsu just to get an added bonus of more accurate chakra control not wanting to waste any energy and expend chakra when he did not need to. Because of this Kaname has unlocked several abilities of note the first is the ability to focus a fixed amount of chakra to the bottom of one's feet, and using that to climb a solid surface without using one's hands. Also expanding upon that skill he is able to emit a constant stream of chakra from the bottom of the his feet and using the repellent force to walk across any liquid surface, he can also use this ability to skate across the liquids surface moving at a faster rate. Also theses abilities have become second nature to Kaname and can be used without even thinking of them. TAIJUTSU: SKILL RANK:(B) SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Kaname coming from a clan that prides themselves on their Taijutsu has always meant that Taijutsu was a big part of his focus while training. While he was never very good at his clan's Taijutsu he was not bad either, this motivated him to continue the rigorous training his clan goes through. This training includes the Senbon Sparring practice of sparring one thousand times in quick succession. Because of this and other training methods his body is in top form. His body is lean and cut making it much more flexible than the large and muscular frames of some other Taijutsu users this helps him with his incredible speed and also with his evasion. Also his stamina and endurance are top tier allowing him to maximize his performance on the battlefield without worrying about tiring as soon as others would. His body is very resilient with many scars and healed wounds, his trophies of war, standing as a testament to this fact. Also later in his life he gained the ability to utilize the Gentle Fist of the Hyuuga within an incredible degree so much so that he could even fix minor dislocations and sprains using his Byakugan and his chakra to fix the joints in another's body. Lastly his reflexes have been tuned to such a fine level that he seemingly no longer thinks in battle, although this is not true his reflex time is so quick that others believe that their is no way that he could have thought about his actions beforehand. BUKIJUTSU: SKILL RANK:(B) SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: As his primary means of fighting Kaname has always spent much time training his Bukijutsu. Because of this he has pinpoint accuracy able to hit extremely fast moving targets without missing a step. Also he has learned to use his environment to help him with his projectiles learning to anticipate winds and wildlife as well as ricochet his projectiles. However he has not left his training in Bukijutsu strictly to projectiles he is also quite gifted when it comes to Kenjutsu able to use both swords and scythes with deadly efficiency, he has also trained with nunchucks, tonfa, staves and rope darts. Also to add an extra bite to his weapons he has also trained in the art of Kayakujutsu as well, which is to say the art of using exploding tags to enhance ones weaponry. Also in the pursuit of enhancing his weaponry he began researching poisons and as such learned so much that he was able to develop his own poison (that he has developed an immunity to as well as various other well known poisons). GENJUTSU: SKILL RANK:(C) SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Although Kaname has never really been interested in using Genjutsu offensively he has looked into and trained his Genjutsu defense. Because of his Byakugan he was always able to tell when himself or others were under the influence of Genjutsu, because of this he decided it would be a good idea to learn the principals behind them as well as learn how to stop them. Because of this he has learned to stop the flow of chakra in his body, and then apply an even stronger power to disrupt the flow of the caster's chakra to effectively dissipate Genjutsu allowing him to save himself from Genjutsu without always having to rely on others or pain. FUUINJUSTU: SKILL RANK:(C) SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: As a Bukijutsu user Kaname knew that he would only be as good as his weapons and if they were to run out, even though he has excellent Taijutsu skill, he would lose a very important aspect of his fighting ability. Because of this he began looking into Fuinjutsu as a means of sealing and unsealing more weapons allowing him to carry more weapons and thus fight with his preferred method much longer than usual. His study of Fuinjutsu is such that he was able to invent a Fuinjutsu that combined with his gentle fist could seal away Bijuu chakra stopping the beast from being able to utilize chakra. This jutsu can also be used against a Bijuu to temporarily tame the tailed beast (though the more tails of the beast the shorter the duration of the effect). BYAKUGAN: DISTANCE RANK;(A) SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: From a very young age it was clear that Kaname was a Genius when it came to the Distance aspect of the Byakugan. Because of this he could see further or as far as anyone in the clan by the time he became a Genin. His distance was always superior without the need to even try hard at it (although he did try hard at it) not only can he see long but he can see wide as well giving him almost unrivaled peripheral vision. He became the epitome of what a Hyuuga should aspire to within the distance aspect by the time he became a Chuunin and was able to absorb more information through his sight than any other in his clan and maybe even the world. PRECISION RANK;(A) SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: While his precision eye has caught up with his distance eye it was a much rougher go for Kaname. His precision eye having always trailed behind that of his distance eye. Because of this he was a bit slow on the uptake when it came to gentle fist, especially when it came to the eight trigrams aspect of the fighting style. This was because he did not learn to see the tenketsu until he was a Chuunin and could not hit them consistently until he was a Jounin. However once he accomplished those feats his precision eye grew in leaps and bounds and now he is one of the best in the clan when using his gentle fist style making him a hard opponent to overcome. | ||||||||

It is a Dōjutsu. The first of abilities are, when activated, the Byakugan gives a near 360º vision, except for a small blind spot at their first thoracic vertebrae. The range varies from user to user, but in general, they are capable of seeing from a minimum of 10 meters, all the way up to a maximum of 20 kilometers (Kaname being able to see the maximum of 20km), and the amount grows with training, ability and age. Kaname has always been advanced when it came to using his eyes more so than others within his clan. This vision is telescopic, allowing users to see through solid objects such as Smoke screens and walls. Arguably its greatest ability is to see chakra in all its nature, including its flow and the circulation system inside the body with great detail as well as the color of chakra; giving them the ability to discern clones from the original. Like the Sharingan and Rinnegan, the Byakugan can detect chakra sealed barriers as well as determine when genjutsu is being used. Because of these unique visual enhancements Kaname has become an adept sensor which allows him to track and kill Ninja from great distances due to his fighting style. It is from the Byakugan's especially acute perception of chakra and ability to view the tenketsu of the human body that the Hyuga Clan are able to employ their signature fighting style: Gentle Fist. Able to strike without force, and yet do more damage to a ninja than some of the most powerful ninjutsu, the Gentle Fist has been labelled as the greatest taijutsu style known in all of Konohagakure. This aspect of the eye depends heavily upon the distance eye as those with a low level within the distance eye would not be able to see as far or use their Byakugan as effectively as someone with a high distance eye. Archery As a Youngster Kaname was not very good at his clan's way of fighting. Because of this he decided he needed another use for his Byakugan, He decided on archery through a series of events that brought archery to his attention. He learned Archery from the rats of Toleeloo Hill whom are excellent Archers. His skill with archery is of the master class. Able to hit moving targets from great lengths and at amazing speeds. He also has the ability to knock several arrows at once and hit his mark with each arrow even in he is aiming at several different targets. His speed when knocking arrows is almost unmatched having the ability to knock and release arrows so quick and sly that the unaided eye would have a hard time tracking his movements. Slight of Hand Something that Kaname has had sense birth is surprisingly quick hands. Which inspired the clan to think that he would be a prodigy when it came to executing gentle fist. Although this did not pan out his quick and swift hands do hold much benefit for him. Such as an ability to knock and release arrows at such a fluid pace that the movement can be hard to track. This also helps him with his gentle fist strikes as they are hard to see coming. Chakra Control With expertise control over his chakra Kaname has gained several abilities of note. The first and most recognized is his almost tangible intent to kill. Before fighting (or whenever he gets too upset) using his extensive control he places his malicious intent into his chakra which causes a dense effect when felt by others. This showing of power and readiness to kill has been known to cause small rocks to turn to rubble as well as bring lesser shinobi to their knees or even to see their own death at his hands effectively stopping the fight before it even starts. Also due to his chakra control he has gained the stamina to fight long and harrowing battles while still keeping a spring in his step. This is not to say that he never tires as he does, though because his control of his chakra is so fine he almost never waste energy when using a technique which allows him to fight much longer than your average shinobi this has also given him the ability to transfer chakra to others to help them fight longer, though doing so will tire him out quicker. The Art of Knowing Kaname has always been an insightful person and has had an intuitive sense of those around him. This coupled with his natural perceptive abilities and the Byakugan's abilities allows him to gather vast amounts of information, while his intellect allows him to process this information quickly and use it to the best of his ability. What this translates is Kaname being able to figure out things that others cannot from the world around him regardless of if he is observing the environment around him or another person or even an animal. His ability to perceive and infer based on the things he notices is on of his best qualities as a Shinobi. With the Byakugan active he could tell when a person's heart quickens so only the best of liars could fool him, also he could see hidden weapons which allows him to act, counter act or react to them before their unveiling. He has also learned to predict movements based on patterns he sees while fighting to better counter his opponents, and have even learned to be able to identify a jutsu being used by the chakra that is being molded for it before use (though he can only do this with jutsu he has seen before ICly). Basically it is extremely hard to catch Kaname off guard or by surprise and especially hard to lie to him. Gentle Fist The most famed style of Konohagakure no Sato and undoubtedly the style in which relies on light strikes, hence the name; but incredibly powerful at dispatching foes. It is a close hand to hand combat that works on strikes, blocks and redirection. The style works by attacking an opponent's chakra pathway system, which are closely interlinked with the surrounding organs and muscles. Even the slightest tap can cause severe damage to the organs, giving it's namesake. This is done by the user forcibly injecting their own chakra into the opponent's system, damaging the surrounding organs/muscles/etc.,This is usually performed through the index and middle finger or through their palm. With the aid of the Byakugan they can gain an intricate understanding of the tenketsu, and can open, or close the Tenketsu. This wrecks havoc in itself as inflicting these injuries completely changes the dynamic in people's chakra systems that allow them to mold chakra, that can range from worse chakra control to zero ability to perform ninjutsu. It should be noted, that any chakra based substance can be destroyed by the Gentle fist, as done by leaking chakra through into their hands into the shape of a protruding needle, or knife-like blade to cut through the opposing chakra. Because the chakra pathway system is invisible to the naked eye, the Byakugan is required for this style to be used effectively. Since the Byakugan is unique to the Hyuga clan, it has become their signature style of combat. When growing up Kaname had trouble initially learning the Gentle Fist style. While he was never the worst at it he was mot the best by far. He was far from a natural talent. Having about the same amount of skill with the Gentle Fist as the average branch member however after many years of training it seemed he was just a late bloomer as his Gentle Fist style can be considered on par with what one expects of a Gentle Fist user of his rank. Also one ability with gentle fist, especially the eight trigrams variant of it, correlates directly to ones ability with the precision eye as with a low level of precision one would not be able to pinpoint the tenketsu as well as hit them during the heat of battle consistently. | ||||||||
