CLAN TYPE: Kekkei Genkai VILLAGE: Kiri ORIGIN: Mizu no Kuni CLAN HISTORY: -- The Yuki clan resided on the outskirts of Mizu no Kuni and as such rarely ever contacted the other clans of their country. The clan themselves harbor a great sense of unity and togetherness more so than the other founding clans. Because of this the clan excelled when working together to take down a foe usually combining their skills to make much larger area of effect jutsu. Their ninja way is one that looks out for their family and friends to make sure no harm befalls them. This and their mighty sword Samehada made them one of the most powerful shinobi clans within Mizu no Kuni. Their Kekkei Genkai often times clashed with that of their rival the Mitsudo clan. The Mitsudo clan was a clan as powerful, as together and with a powerful sword of their own just like the Yuki clan. The Mitsudo clan and the Yuki spent much time battling one another to the point that they had become very good at fighting on another. Soon their fights had turned into a rivalry and soon that rivalry turned into a war. They fought countless times each time the wielder of Samehada going up against the wielder of Shibukai which was the name of the powerful blade of the Mitsudo. Soon their war would come to a climax with one huge fight for the future of both clans. This fight lasted for two weeks and in the end, it was the Yuki that came out victorious and drew up a treaty that stated that the Mitsudo clan was no an ancillary part of the Yuki clan. This made the Mitsudo basically Yuki’s fighting force made to do their bidding and follow them by any means. It was during this time that the ten tails emerged and the warring against it began. Fighting against the ten tails was when the Yuki clan and by extension the Mitsudo clan really shined, as both clans excelled at teamwork and had unique abilities of their own they were able to combine their might with the other nations much more easily which allowed them to spread their power and be a huge part of the shinobi power force. There was a time where every squad of shinobi had at least one Yuki or Mitsudo clan member within it for the simple fact that their ability for on the spot teamwork is quite phenomenal. Although the Mitsudo did not like their lot in life being subservient to the Yuki clan they adhered to the treaty mostly because they were treated well and there was a war going on with the ten tails, however they did wish for their freedom and the Yuki could tell. As a means to stop them from rising up the Yuki gave their sword to the wielder of Samehada as a means to discourage them. This did the trick as the members of the Mitsudo clan did not think they would be able to fight a war while wage a civil war without their sword. This did not hamper the Mitsudo spirit and they continued to make a presence in the war. After the Gokage were named the fighting got more intense as it brought the nations together like never before. Through the Gokage’s leadership especially the tutelage of Genryuusai Genkaitamesendo the clans of Mizu no Kuni were able to train harder and gain much more strength. It was under his watchful eye that many of the Hyoton techniques were developed and strengthened and made it so that the Yuki clan could stand by themselves, whereas before they were more of support unit that relied on team centric attacks. While they did not lose sight of their team based priority. However, they were able to fortify themselves as individual battles. The war continued with the members of the Yuki making a name for themselves with their abilities. Soon it looked as if the war would come to an end as the Gokage got together and came up with a powerhouse jutsu in order to stop it. This caused a great, bust largely silent, schism within the clan. The two factions never actually ceased to exist, and for years afterwards the plotted against one another. Until one day, when a rogue Anti-traditionalist, now calling themselves Neo-progressivists, attacked and killed the clan matriarch. This cause a shock among the entire clan, and spurred them directly into another civil war across their entire territory. The fighting would last them decades, and often see each side pitted against different clans from the different nations. Their numbers grew smaller and smaller until they were all but extinct. The After the war the leader of the Yuki clan decided to strike out on her own her clan and the Mitsudo clan by extension would isolate themselves in order to strengthen their teamwork as well as their individual prowess. It was during this isolation that the Yuki clan head heard rumors that the son of Genryuusai was going around collecting powerful swords and figured that he would be on his way to fight her. Because of this she decided to get the fight out of the way by finding him. They found each other easily enough and a fight commenced Squishy as he was called defeated the Yuki clan head and talked her into joining him and giving him her two swords as a sign of good faith. Squishy also wanting the clans to be equal asked for the treaty between the Yuki and the Mitsudo to be dissolved and for the Mitsudo to be considered a founding clan. The Yuki leader agreed with these terms and they got to work helping Squishy to create Kirigakure. CLAN IDEOLOGY: -- The Yuki clan stands together and that is said to be their biggest strength, even more than their Kekkei Genkai. Their belief system is heavily based on team centered ideals and working together with anyone at anytime. This is not to say that all Yuki are nice and sweet to get along with everyone. In actuality more often than not the Yuki are just as cold as their ice. More than one of them have been called abrasive and standoffish, however this does not stop them from being able to work great in a team which is just baffling to most. They tend to work best in a team even if their individual personalities make being in a team hard for them. CLAN ABILITIES: -- Hyōton is the combined nature transformation kekkei genkai of the Yuki clan. It allows the user to freely create and manipulate ice by simultaneously combining wind and water-based chakra. Additionally, any nearby water is an advantage, as the user can simply freeze that water to create ice. This ice can be used for various uses and while the base level of these techniques are highly susceptible to fire and other heat based techniques the higher level jutsu is resistant to heat and flames making these techniques quite versatile and hard to deal with. Also the members of the Yuki clan are exceptional when it comes to team based abilities. They have an intrinsic ability that allows them to synch their chakra perfectly with whomever they are fighting with making combination ninjutsu much easier to do. Because of this they excel when in squads and are highly sought after as team mates. In order to take advantage of this ability one would need an SA for it. CLAN HIERARCHY: -- The clan Hierarchy is simple. Their is a leader and they choose a heir whenever they feel like choosing one and when they die their heir takes over. There are no rules for picking an Heir besides the heir must have been born into the clan and have access to the Kekkei Genkai.
