Yamazaki Ichizoku |
VILLAGE: Iwagakure no Sato [Hidden Stone Village] Kirigakure no Sato [Hidden Mist Village] Kumogakure no Sato [HIdden Cloud Village] ORIGIN: Ishi no Kuni [Land of Stone] CLAN HISTORY: The clan known as the Yamazaki originally came from Ishi no Kuni. Their history is one of pride, honor, and separation. The clan's farthest recorded history, started with their king: Sotaru Yamazaki. Before then, the clan was split into three separate clans, the Shiro, the Mitsudo, and the Kōji clans. Each constantly warred with the other over anything and everything one could start a war about. However eventually, Sotaru Mitsudo managed to get a small group from each clan to join him in making the Yamazaki clan. After forming this clan, Sotaru sent out a warning to all the other clans. Join them now, or be forced to. Unfortunately the Shiro, Mitsudo, and Kōji clans all saw this as a challenge, which they met with full force. The three clans would battle for an entire year, each battle becoming more and more severe than the last. This year of battles would escalate to the most deadly battle in the Yamazaki history, known simply as the Eruption of Ishi no Kuni. In this last battle every member of every clan converged on one point of Ishi no Kuni. Molten Lava destroyed the landscape, Quicklime bound enemies together only to be turned into charred corpses by ash, and some bodies are still stuck in the tar pits that were made in this battle. However, it all came to an end when Sotaru Yamazaki took the chakra from his entire clan and poured it into a gigantic ball of lava. While killing every member of the Yamazaki clan but himself, it also managed to destroy a majority of the enemy clan's soldiers, including the leaders of the enemy clan. With a large portion of the land destroyed, and the clans left without leaders, the war was over. All of the clan's finally came together to become the Yamazaki clan. Now a full clan, Sotaru was named the king of the clan, as the clan followed a Monarchy. He also adopted one member of each of the three families, to give each an equal sense of control. For years Sotaru would lead the Yamazaki on conquests across Ishi no Kuni, adding more to their numbers. However, one of Sotaru's adoptive brothers, Sasori gather all of the former Kōji members years later, and lead a rebellion against Sotaru and his entire family line. In this war the Kōji clan members would succeed in killing Sotaru during a deadly battle. However, Sotaru's twins,a son and a daughter, took lead of the clan immediately afterwards. Thanks to his son Akihiko's sheer power in battle and his daughter Toshihiro's strategy, they quickly and skillfully defeated the Kōji Rebellion. As punishment, Akihiko made it law that when a Kōji male was born, they would have a special loyal shiki-fūin [formula-seal] place onto them to ensure loyalty. He would use it as a constant threat to loom over the Kōji members. With this seal and it's ability to make the victims eunuch, thus preventing the passing on of the kekkai genkai to others, Akihiko kept the Kōji as warrior slaves for the Yamazaki clan. It was this treatment of the Kōji that would lead the clan down the road it follows today. After an entire year of witnessing the enslavement of the Kōji and the way her brother treated them, Toshihiro spoke out against him. In her belief the treatment of the Kōji was merely asking for another rebellion. This dispute would go on for months before a civil war between Toshihiro and Akihiko. Toshihiro's followers, and Kōji slaves, would wage war against Akihiko's followers. During this time, Toshihiro began recruiting Akihiko's Kōji to her side in secret. This would continue until twenty-five percent of the Kōji were on Toshihiro's side of the war. As punishment, Akihiko sent his best shinobi to invade everyone Toshiro's camps. He had one simple objective: activate the seal of every Kōji member that aligned themselves with his sister. While the attack was successful, not a single member returned from this mission. Another battle would ensue between Akihiko and Toshihiro. This final battle would set in motion of a series of events that would turn the clans into what they were today. While the battle was grand, what happened during the battle is not what is important, but the effects of that battle. In the end, Akihiko's side was victorious, with Toshihiro's side having lost all non Kōji males. Meanwhile the Kōji on Akihiko's side had lost every female of the family. Akihko banished Toshihiro and her followers from Ishi no Kuni, re-branding them with a name of one of the three original clans: the Mitsudo. No more than two months after that battle finished, Akihiko and all who knew how to create and use the seal were killed in the middle of the night. When the remains of the Yamazaki clan investigated, they found that the entire Kōji clan had evacuated in the night. Because of this, when a new king was crowned, several changes were made to the clan. The first and immediate one was declaring war on the Kōji clan, whom had proudly admitted to killing the leader when they had left. The second, was that the Yamazaki took on a name of one of the three original clans: the Shiro. However the war was not long. After only one week, the Daimyō had heard of the war escalating between the two halves of the clan. Fearing another scar upon Ishi no Kuni's soil, the Daimyō gathered as many ninja as he could to push the two warring factions back. Between the Daimyō and the civil war, both sides were forced to flee from battle. The clan now scattered into the three current families, each found a new home in a new country. The Mitsudo Family at first remained wanderers. Constantly searching for a new home, one the felt safe in. This would continue until they found their way onto a large ship heading to the Mizu no Kuni. It would be here they would meet the Yuki Clan, whom they would begin warring with for a short period. Unfortunately, do to being used to the land and having more soliders, the Yuki won, and had the Mitsudo family serve under them. Here the settled, holding a small estate on the biggest island of the land. The Kōji family fled to Kaminari no Kuni, living within it's very mountains, ruling over them with an iron fist, with the only way of entering or leaving being proving one's strength. The Shiro family fled to Tsuchi no Kuni, running into the Hōseki family, whom gave the Shiro family a place to stay and restock supplies, as well as partnered with them to help defend their new home. During the time of the Gokage war, each family stayed out of most of the battles. Each family protected the land they fled to from attacks of the Juubei's clones. Each clan had one battle that was simple, and one that proved to be their largest challenge. The Shiro of Tsuchi no Kuni's first battle with the Juubei's clone was a simple one. It was a majority of the clan against a clone that took the form of a gigantic gorilla. Despite it's simplistic design, the beast proved to be their hardest battle, as any jutsu they threw at the beast was absorbed and thrown back at them through volcano shaped canals and holes in the beast's body. It would take a half the clan's forces restraining it with Doton, and the other half of the forces burned the creature alive with katon. Their second battle was much easier. This would take place in what would later become Tsuchi no Kuni's Neko no I. Here the Juubei clan took on the form of a gigantic cat. Against this beast, the clan members would focus on one thing: burning it alive. Using every ounce of katon chakra they had, the clan managed to burn the beast alive in a towering pillar of fire. However much of the battle field was scared with craters made by the molten earth techniques of the clan and scratches from the beast's claws. The Mitsudo of Mizu no Kuni's first battle was their easiest. Facing a strange hooved Juubei clone, they were able to over power it easily. Whenever it ran a them to ram them or crush them under foot, they bound it in Quicklime, and then burned it to a crisp with their ash techniques. With this and it's stubborn way of attacking, the beast was quickly killed. Their second battle however was difficult, as they fought a turtle like Juubei clone. Any time they hurt the beast, it adapted to whatever way they had injured it, making it impossible to injure it the same way twice. The battle waged on for hours, until the strongest members came together to use one final attack on the beast. Leaping to the clone's level, they each moved every ounce of chakra they had to their weapons and fist, each unleashing one powerful attack. In this they crushed the clone with sheer force, as well as impaled clean through it's head, finally ending the battle. The Kōji of Kumogakure found their first battle to be the easiest. They fought a bull like Juubei clone, similar to the hooved best the Mitsudo fought, although noticeably stronger and not as fast. Each time it tried to crush any shinobi, it found itself being crushed by the rocks that rained from the mountains it was attacking. Any time it attacked with all its might, rubber sent the force of it's own attack back at it. In the end, they trapped the beast in a gigantic ocean of tar, before solidifying it to crush the beast. Their second battle, much like the Mitsudo, was their most difficult. In this case, the Juubei clone took on the form of a land octopus that could move through the ground as if it were water. The beast would constantly attack from under the ground, its tentacles dragging the shinobi underground with it to suffocate them. Any time a shinobi came back up with doton ninjutsu, they were crushed by a boulder flung by another tentacle. They were only able to defeat it when they used rubber ropes to bind the creature's tentacles and held it in air, before crushing it with massive spiked earth plates. Soon after, the Gokage war ended, and the new generation of Kage were named. Not long after, the shinobi villages were founded, and the three Families were given an option to join them. Each having their own reasons, the clans joined their respective villages, and the rest has yet to be written. The Mitsudo were also freed from the Yuki and made equals during this time period. CLAN IDEOLOGY: Shiro Family: "A sparrow cannot understand the aspirations of a phoenix. Thusly, ask not the sparrow how the eagle soars." ----- Blessed with the rare ability to mold earth and fire chakra together, the members of the Shiro radiate cockiness and pride. Despite this pride and cockiness, most chuunin and jonin have learned to keep such outbursts to a minimum. They are also exceedingly loyal to Tsuchi no Kuni and Iwagakure, as not only is it their home, but one of the family's of Iwagakure gave them a home and equal grounding in the land. The members are also very cunning and stealthly, being able to turn on a dime to defeat their enemies. While tricky and cunning, this does not matter to them more than their earlier mentioned loyalty to their land, so they will be honest with any Iwagakure shinobi. Mitsudo Family: "The lioness will use all her strength even when hunting a rabbit!" ----- The Mitsudo family are a special bunch. The women and men alike are taught from day one their most powerful weapon is one's own body, and are trained rigorously to achieve the physique necessary to maintain their business. However, what makes the Mitsudo family members so terrifying is not the hyper-masculinity and displays of strength of the Kōji, nor the outright cockiness and I'm-royalty-I'm right-show-me-respect attitude of the Shiro; instead, it is their ability to constantly move forwards no matter what hits them. Kōji Family: "Usually when people are sad, they don't do anything. They just cry over their condition. But when they get angry, they bring about a change." ----- To say the Kōji men have endured a lot is an understatement. Coming from forced servitude and slavery, the Kōji know better than most what true anger is. It is this anger that drives them, often a reason the men are considered barbarians amongst the ninja world. As well, it is anger that drove the Kōji to rebel and make a name for themselves in the mountains borders of Kumogakure. PHYSICAL CLAN TRAITS: Shiro Family The Shiro family are named after their white hair, skin, and near white eyes. They tend to keep their hair well kept and neat, although this is not true for all members. Their outfits tend to be a blend of reds and brown, symbolizing not only their commitment to Iwagakure, but the elements that make up their kekkei genkai. Kōji Family The Kōji Family are a predominantly dark skinned family, with equally dark hair colors and red eyes. Their hair is almost always a complete mess, as few members then to care about how they look. Their outfits tend to be buried under armor, making it hard to tell what they wear underneath. They have no set color to their outfits. Mitsudo Family The Mitsudo Family are mix between both the Kōji and Shiro families as far as physical appearances. Be it skin, hair color, hair style, or even the color of their eyes, they are the most varied of the clan. However they almost always are in top physical shape. The clan members tend to wear light and flexible clothing, as to not restrict movement. They also tend to wear all black to aid in stealth. CLAN ABILITIES: [ y ō t o n / / l a v a r e l e a s e ] + Kirigakure: Hai / Sekkai Hentai [Ash / Quicklime Variation] The Yōton jutsu of the Mitsudo Family. The Quicklime jutsu tend to have a theme of restraining and then burning the victims. These are normally shot from the mouth, but also can be secreted from any point of the body. The Ash half of this style tends to involve causing searing burns and blinding the enemy. This branch's techniques tend to draw more so on the Katon chakra within Yōton, as such most clan members in Kirigakure have katon as their starting element. Iwagakure: Yōgan / Sanshōdoro Hentai [Molten Rock / Acidic Mud Variation] The Yōton jutsu of the Shiro Family. These two tend to have the same effect: burn through whatever in their way. Only two main differences separate the two. The first of these two is that Molten Rock tends to melt through things faster than Acidic Mud. The second is that Acidic Mud tends to cover a larger area of effect for less chakra. This branch's techniques balance both natures that make up Yōton, as such there is a mix of members with Katon and Doton chakra natures as their starting elment. Kumogakure: Gomu / Yani Hentai [Rubber / Tar Variation] The Yōton jutsu of the Kōji Family. Anything made of rubber can be used with these techniques. Be it a rope to swing oneself or objects around, a ball to throw defend oneself, or even a wall of rubber to negate attacks, the imagination tends to be the limit with these. The tar jutsu tend to use toxic and sticky liquid to cripple enemies, or suffocate them. This branch's techniques ten to draw more so on the Doton chakra within Yōton, as such most clan members in Kumogakure have Doton as their starting chakra nature. Any and all members of any family are immune to the effects of their own jutsu, be it the burning of Yōgan / Sanshōdoro, the poisonous effects of Yani, or the burning effects of Yōgan. CLAN HIERARCHY: IWAGAKURE WAKARE: SHIRO KAZOKU [Hidden Stone Branch: White Ash Family] As the ruling branch of the Yamazaki clan, the Shiro is solely a monarchy. All Shiro family members are blood related and all possess the dominant kekkai genkai gene; due to this, the clan leader and any heirs will only come from the Shiro family. The Royalty of the clan, all decisions made by the Shiro family are absolute and affect all three branches. Should the King/Queen die, the heir is automatically the first in line for the position, followed by any relatives of the deceased leader. KIRIGAKURE WAKARE: Mitsudo KAZOKU [Hidden Mist Branch: Hot Spring Family] A slightly more simplistic group of individuals, the Mitsudo family are primarily a matriarchy due to the majority of its members being female. Due to the dominant gene, only the females possess the kekkai genkai (however, only the males can pass it on). This proves to be an interesting part in the Mitsudo family's primary business, making weapons. The women because of this are stronger, and of course teamwork between them. Unique to the Mitsudo branch is the treatment of both sexes; while the women are the primary governors of the family's business and traditions, the men, due to their low numbers, are treated with extra care; this is particularly due to the males holding the kekkai genkai's dominant gene, and as such need to be watched to ensure the gene is passed on with the proper genetics to benefit the family. KUMOGAKURE WAKARE: KŌJI KAZOKU [Hidden Cloud Branch: Construction Work Family] The antithesis to the Mitsudo family, the Kōji are all male family. Originally slaves and laborers, the Kōji family was originally created to be the Shiro's family army of warriors. Upon birth males were branded with a special loyal shiki-fūin [formula-seal] to ensure loyalty; activation of said seal would effectively render an insubordinate Kōji an eunuch, thus preventing the passing on of the kekkai genkai to others. Having grown restless with their warrior lifestyle, the Kōji choose to rebel and flee from the Shiro estates; due to this, all Kōji are labeled traitors and any who set foot within the Shiro estates or Iwagakure are considered nukenin and will be captured on sight. Having an incredibly trying upbringing from birth the Kōji decided to become a meritocracy; regardless of one's physical or mental capabilities, the one who could show he is truly the strongest overall is declared the family head. Unlike the Shiro and Mitsudo families, however, the leader of the Kōji family is constantly changing, as becoming the family head does not ensure maintaining the position indefinitely, instead having to defend said title to prove a Kōji man is worthy.
