FAMILY OF TENNIN |
CLAN TYPE:Kekkei Genkai VILLAGE: Kumogakure ORIGIN: Kumogakure CLAN HISTORY: Born with humanity, the Tennin were started as a simple family more than a clan. As humanity grew, so did this family. New generations bred new generations, people married into the family known as Tennin. Outsiders were accepted. Children were taken in. This family slowly grew into a a group that lived among the mountains that would become known as the land of lightning in days to come. These people remained secluded. A friendly but prosperous people that would only be called a clan by others who knew of them. They were family. And that was that. Like many people of that time, the Tennin worshipped chakra. It was a life force. A natural energy in everything that brought life and breath to the world around them and within them. Needless to say, they practiced their own form of ninshū. There was life and giving, respect and sharing. The clan prospered with their kindness, understanding, and acceptance. While the height and rugged terrain of the mountains often assisted in their ability to survive and remain secluded from what humanity longed to become. Hatred and greed ravaged the land below. War sprang up. A deathly carnage that no Tennin wished to get involved in. They remained hidden from the world. Separate from those who wished for pain and power. It was no surprise that a man for peace sprang up. The Tennin would never claim that he was of their family, but their ideas and wants for the world were surprisingly similar to this sage of peace. He traveled the world, spread his message, and brought much understanding back into human hearts. Few Tennin aspired to follow this path as well, these individuals taking to leaving their family and spreading the words of peace to those that they could reach. In their hearts, they hoped that maybe the world would be family once again. That hope was short lived. The ninshū teacher’s death brought jealousy back to the forefront of the world. Not even the new “leaders” of ninshū could betray that dark pull of man. Those who had left the Tennin family to find peace were either lost in the darkness that was the world below, or returned frantic for the love of their home. Even as the religion of ninshū died away in the lands below, the Tennin would always carry its teachings in their hearts. While the solid and written teachings of the Sage may have been lost, the family of Tennin hold very close to what their ancestors longed for. In their place in the mountains, they did not resort to the new practices of this fearful world. They lived on as they always had. Taking care of their own and welcoming those who lost their way. They were the Tennin. The family hidden in the mountains. A mere whisper that other people only assumed to be a myth or fairytail of some group of creatures in the mountains. Over the years, only one thing brought their attention to the world below that they felt inclined to meddle in the darkness. The birth of a ten-tailed chakra beast. It brought destruction and rage and insanity. The Tennin, as much as they disliked conflict, hated the pure essence of evil even more. This beast was the exact opposite of their teachings and beliefs. It wanted everything different than them. They needed to fight for what was right in the world. Fight for their family and fight for what was left of ninshū. While the clan wasn’t known for their warriors, being a peaceful people, there were many volunteers among the people who made the sacrifice of offering their abilities and lives to the Land of Lightning. These men and women offered themselves for what they believed to be right and just, the destruction of the beast. Those that left would fight and never be heard from again. Death awaited them, but in the end they felt they fought for what was right. The family mourned those that left them. Mourned their deaths. But also rejoiced in the devotion to the good around them. Their chakra wouldn’t die, but merely be absorbed back into the earth. Those that sacrificed themselves would live on to be perpetually good in the world. A light for those to follow. Chakra to guide and help and heal. Those that left would be honored in their death, having given their lives for the sake of their family and for good as a whole. But the family would keep on living as it always had. Now there were messengers who wished to continue to take the good news to other parts of the land. The peace that was ninshu. There were those that wished to fight actively against the darkness of the world. These people left to be trained among the shinobi of villages. Others, choose to live their lives among the people. To be raised as they always had. To live as they always had. To be the Family of Tennin who lives among the mountains. CLAN IDEOLOGY: -- There is not one thing to revere, but be in awe of all. Seeing as chakra encompasses and is part of all things nature and living, the Tennin believe everything to be worth awe and wonder. In essence things are good and worth time and effort. They take value in the earth, in animals, in people, and anything else that this world has to offer. Honor those who do good. Honor does not mean to worship, but hold them in respect and remember the actions that were done in order to receive honor. The clan clings to what is good and right, therefore those who sacrifice for the good and right of the whole should be remembered fondly and given respect. To take a life without cause is cruelty at its peak. Seeing as the Tennin are in awe of all things, study and accept the world that is chakra, if one chooses to murder another living being it is looked down about with great sadness. Thankfully, the family has never has such issue among their relatives. Squabbles here and there, but they have held surprisingly close to their ideals of peace and respect. To take what isn’t yours is an action of disrespect. This goes from taking someone’s pencil to taking someone’s wife. It is evil to steal from others, from the family or not. You have what is yours and if you are in need, others will assist you. There is no reason for someone to take something that doesn’t belong to them. The world is good, protect it and accept it. The Tennin want very much to believe that the world is innately good. That people in it are good and that everyone works together for a greater and mightier purpose. To realize this, they believe they are to work together and accept others into their folds when they are in need. The greatest respect you can show someone is total love and acceptance. CLAN ABILITIES: -- Wings of Divine Chakra - Through these years of seclusion and ninshū worship, drawing on the power of chakra that always remained around them. Learning to understand it as well as let it guide them, the family of Tennin were blessed with properties to those of their blood. The Tennin people were blessed with condensed chakra wings. These are able to be called upon at the user’s will, wings of visible chakra upon the person’s body. These legendary constructs have been known to grant the user flight as well as rumored to have other unnatural power. Such sayings have been known to include wings as hard as solid steel or engulfed in a roaring fire. Telepathy in Acceptance – Due to the nature of the clan holding themselves as a closeknit family moreso than a group of people who reside together, they were also blessed with a mental link. Those of the Tennin Family can speak to one another telepathically without so much as breaking a sweat. The Tennin are linked by the world which is made of chakra. They belong together and understand one another. Therefore, they are able to connect to one another as if speaking from their mouths. Those that fought alongside Tennin against the ten tails and survived have commented hearing voices of those unknown in their heads, implying the possibility of Tennin being able to reach out to those outside their clan. Ears to the World – This can only be described to those outside the clan as a sensory ability. Those from the Family of Tennin can sense natural chakra all around them but are much more sensitive to the chakra of living humans. This type of sensory that the family possesses takes on a more aural reception. While the members can sense chakra, it is more of a listening and relaying these unique sounds to their mind to create a mental understanding. First they listen, then understand from their very hearts and souls. Their connection and understanding of this chakra has them listening with their hearts. So much so that this sensory ability can even feed on the emotions of others in the area or the will of these people. In essence, they can sense the will to kill, or the want for peace, a need for happiness, or a longing for greed. While they are incredibly in tune with the chakra emissions of people, those who have strong sensing abilities to others may be overwhelmed. A multitude of people or an overly aggressive will/emotion can overpower the Tennin, creating a false and similar emotion (or will) to those they are surrounded by. CLAN HIERARCHY: -- The hierarchy of the Family of Tennin is broken into four basic spheres. While these spheres are different and hold a variety of jobs and expectations, none is specifically seen as above the other. Each of the family is different and each of them has their life to live in this world of chakra. Each of the Spheres can be moved in or out of, depending on the actions of the Family Members. Sphere of Knowledge – Those that fall within this sphere are often what other clans may call ‘Elders.’ More than likely these individuals will be some of the oldest and wisest of the family, those who are trusted and have proven that they understand and follow the old ideals of ninshu as well as the ideals of the clan. All large decisions are passed to this sphere, the family expecting them to make the wisest and most honorable choice. They are well respected and honored, but not held as above the others. Their job is to keep everyone safe and to lead the family in the way of righteousness. Sphere of Messengers – It is the duty of those within this sphere to relay the messages of the elders as well as the teachings of ninshu. These Messengers can range as mere messengers to the family to messengers to the world. Like anyone of the family, they are expected to hold close to clan ideals and listen to the teachings and words of the elders with respect. Their job is to make sure the elders’ words are heard and carried out by the family. The relayer as well as the watcher. Sphere of Trust – One of the least sought after spheres in the family, those that wish for this sphere are so devoted that they lay their lives on the line. While the Tennin are not raised as fighters by any stretch, those that choose to be part of this sphere devote themselves to defending the clan as well as going out into the world and defending their ideals and beliefs. It is those of this sphere who went to fight the ten tails. Those who leave the clan to fight for what is right and just are almost automatically placed within this sphere. While the family does not like to think of this as a sphere of ‘strength,’ those in this sphere are what other clans would refer to as the Warriors. Their job is to protect. Sphere of Tranquility – More often than not, those in this sphere are children, mothers, crafters, and caretakers. These are those that fulfill the needs of those in the village. They are which keeps the mortal body alive in the clan. Their devotion is to those of the family, raising food both animal and grain, building houses, making supplies, and so on. This sphere makes up a good portion of the family. They are no less important than those of the Knowledge sphere. Their job is to keep everyone breathing and healthy in a bodily way.
