APPEARANCE HEIGHT 6'6ft WEIGHT -- Standing at a noticeable height of 6'6 ft with broad shoulders Mako is a slightly intimidating figure despite his easy going nature. His skin is relatively quite tan by comparison to other shinobi of konohagakure, his hair is light brown originally but appears even lighter under specific light. With a perfectly oval shaped face, masculine jaw structure ,slightly thin eyes and golden irises Mako is considered somewhat attractive. His dark hair is barely shoulder length and kept long at the back while he trims it neatly to frame the side and front of his face. The tips of his hair are died red for personal purposes. Mako's body is in peak physical condition thanks to years of training and missions, his body structure is athletic yet layered with perfectly proportioned muscle from his broad shoulders, large arms to his well divided chest and well developed stomach muscles. His defining trait is the dragon tattoo that runs across his whole left arm and ends at his shoulder, he wears a pair of black or dark grey pants along with a white form fitting t shirt and a black jacket with red interior. He straps his sword on his left hip making it easier for his right arm to un-sheath it in an instant. Both of his hands are covered by short black gloves. Mako constantly wears a golden family necklace with a red ruby in its center piece. He is extremely protective of this piece of jewelry and would never allow anyone to touch it. | ||||||||
PERSONALITY "Your inherited abilities won't beat my hard work Mako Hikari is masterfully able to assess situations in a matter of seconds and identify possible future dangers then devises and enacts strategies to prevent them from happening. Mako has a quick and rapt understanding of how people think and he uses this to his advantage, allowing him to negotiate his way past his superiors back when he was in the lower ranks and during his years as an academy student. Even till this day his negotiation and manipulation abilities are at their peak, this often comes in handy Since Mako is also a bit lazy. His negotiation and manipulation abilities allow him to sweet talk people into doing his work for him. Mako Hikari processes information from a wide set of logical and ethical angles before making a choice, but once he settles on a decision, he is unwavering in his course. He views the world through a wide lens, and consistently compares individual details and situations to the big picture. Mako recognizes patterns where others see chaos and is able to isolate problems with current strategies and thereby improve upon them. He is rapid in his ability to pick up new skills and understand complicated concepts, to the point of hardly having to pay attention during his academy days. Mako Hikari is focused on getting things done, but refuses to move forward with a decision until he is certain of its outcome. He is incredibly rational and immediately pin-points errors in both his own and other people’s logic. Although Mako is relatively lazy preferring to spend his time at parties, training by himself or simply napping he is willing and able to step into positions of team leadership instead of just mapping out strategies for other teams and team leaders to follow. Mako's tactical prowess makes him a slightly harsh leader, he is willing to risk the lives of a few shinobi to achieve the perfect outcome. He mostly operates on a logical basis and neglects emotional bonds that might hinder his reasoning and planning. This makes it easier to develop near perfect attack or defense strategies without crying over a few casualties as long as he gets the desired outcome. Mako has no difficulties setting aside impulses and emotions in order to accomplish his aims and is relatively unaffected by personal criticism. He is easily able to zero-in on a specific course and follow his plans efficiently to closure. He sees and recognizes the need for most rules, but feels no qualms breaking the ones that seem unnecessary in his eyes. Mako as also known to be quite perceptive and usually notices details in his environment that need to be pointed out to most people. He pays close enough attention to his environment that he is able to adapt to surprises. Mako even uses his environment to his advantage in fights, often utilizing pieces of it that have been overlooked by his enemies. Despite all of these good qualities Mako is far from a perfect Jounin hancho or a good person. He makes a habit of disappearing for hours at a time, using his talents to have others do his work in his absence. He is also a perfectionist by nature and can be set off into a fit of rage by the slightest imperfections, even occasionally loosing his temper with shinobi that execute his plans imperfectly. Luckily that is only in battle situations, when not in battle he can be quite easy going and fun loving, Mako Hikari has no interests in proper romantic relationships and is usually only interested in brief spontaneous physical interactions between him and people of the opposite sex, once it becomes dull he disappears. | ||||||||
HISTORY The story starts with Mayiko and Tenzen not only a loving couple but business partners and the owners of the most successful weapon producing company in the land of fire. The Hikari family owned mines of their own and that was the family's main source of income until the times of war came and the need for weapons drastically increased. Mayiko and her husband Tenzen used the resources from the family mines to create a weapon producing company that soon became Konohagakure's main supplier and thrived during the war. Up till this day the Hikari family is known for producing light and extremely durable weaponry due to the minerals they manually imbue into their steel thus making it chakra sensitive as well. At the peak of their financial success they decided to have a child, their first born was a beautiful baby girl named Asami. Despite having everything handed to her on a silver platter due to her family's wealth Asami Hikari decided to pursue the life of a shinobi. Unlike most shinobi families Asami's family couldn't provide her with genes that would predisposition her for greatness in battle like those that inherited the genes of the Uchiha, Senju, Hyuga, nara and the many other clans in existence. Instead she was born average and had to work for her success. By the time she turned 18 she had made her way up the ranks to chuunin, at that point her younger brother Mako Hikari was born. Much like his sister Mako had hardly inherited genes that would guarantee him success in the shinobi world, luckily he was born with an above average intellect and freakishly large chakra reserves. Mako and his sister Asami were inseparable, his older sister was constantly protecting him, taking care of him and even trained him in the basics when he was 7, this caused him to enroll in the academy at the age of 7 in order to follow in his sister's footsteps. She was his role model, one he would follow to the ends of the earth. Eventually at the age of 10 Mako made it to Genin. Sadly he wasn't lucky enough to be put on his sister's genin team but they continued training together and with her help Mako began to better understand his own potential. For Mako's first few years as a genin he believed he wasn't all that gifted in ninjutsu and resorted to learning kenjutsu from his academy sensei in order to balance out his combat abilities. However through research and observation during multiple training sessions Mako's sister managed to figure out her younger brother's problem with executing certain ninjutsu perfectly. His chakra was far too powerful for him to accurately manipulate at his current age, Mako had great chakra reserves and it often made it challenging for him to learn certain types of ninjutsu. As a result Mako would spend mornings in kenjutsu training with his formal sensei and afternoons learning raiton styled techniques with his sister, Raiton was the only elemental chakra nature that allowed one to fully express the volatile and violent nature of their chakra and manifest it physically as chaotic sparks of lightning. This is why Mako was such a natural at using raiton style ninjutsu to the point where it became a speciality. By the time the chuunin exams came Mako was far beyond ready, with daily training sessions from two higher ranking shinobi and a few missions to prep him Mako found the exams bearable to say the least. Even with all of his training and new found skill Mako noticed that the one thing that got the attention of his superiors was his intellect and strategical prowess that allowed him to stay a head of others his age. With an impressive display of cunning and tact he was promoted to Chuunin at the early age of 14, Mako found this day to be the best day of his life since he could now work on missions with his beloved sister. Sadly she was killed by Sunagakure shinobi on the night Mako got his promotion. The one person he had done all of this for wasn't there to witness him become a chuunin, this obviously left quite a few permanent scars on Mako's psyche. Scars that seemed unwilling to heal as he became a reclusive soul and would spend his days training, reading and plotting. Years went by and Mako had lost all desire to let people in Of course eventually his inward depression quickly turned into an outward series of careless behavior his sister would have never commended. At the age of 18 Mako resorted to things like attending parties, heavy drinking and carelessly having passionate nights with random females in an attempt to ease his own pain. Luckily just when all seemed lost Mako received a mission that would cause a collision between him and the group of Sunagakure shinobi that had killed his elder sister years ago. At the time he was not nearly strong enough to kill them, but immediately when he got back to Konoha the flame that had been driving him to progress as a shinobi was rekindled and the memory of his sister kept him striving for more power. Time and time again his strategic prowess seemed to impress his superiors, his abilities to formulate seemingly unorthodox strategies at a moments notice along with a year of dedication and work earned him a Jounin position. Yet even this wasn't enough, the memory of Mako's sister still drove him to reach greater heights. Due to this Mako had even pushed himself through life threatening quests to obtain more power, and even obtain a certain degree of mastery in raiton. This pushing himself went on until he turned 21 where Mako had earned the position of Jounin Hancho, he has only held this position for a year now but has already made multiple changes to improve the village's military. | ||||||||
SPECIALIZATIONS: Hijutsu | Hiden Jutsu:-Chidori | One Thousand Birds SKILL RANK:A SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Mako has just learned the technique four months ago, despite being told he wouldn't be able to use it effectively in battle Mako continued to ask an Uchiha elder to teach him. He performs the technique quite quickly for a new user, thanks to his natural gift for using Raiton chakra and large chakra reserves Mako is able to perform it a maximum of 4 times before exhausting his chakra reserves. Mako uses a technique called "Raiton waves of enlightenment" to counter the Tunnel vision effect the chidori has. the Raiton waves of enlightenment technique allows him to see the world around him and perform the technique with his eyes closed. NINJUTSU: SKILL RANK:B SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Mako has extremely large chakra reserves which allows him to fire off one large destructive jutsu after another. He is also quite quick at performing handseals, sadly he only specializes in explosive and destructive techniques, Mako isn't able to use techniques that require precise and accurate chakra control and usually messes them up. TAIJUTSU: SKILL RANK:A&C SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Without the use of his Raiton chakra mode he is a C ranked taijutsu fighter with an average amount of speed and strength for a shinobi. However, when he uses his raiton chakra mode Mako can instantly hold his own against A rank taijutsu users. This is because this mode allows him to move at speeds that create after images of himself with every move. At his maximum power he is able to reach speeds that make it a bit difficult for even doujutsu users to keep up with using their eyes. He doesn't exactly move at speeds of the body flicker but he comes quite close. BUKIJUTSU: SKILL RANK:B SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Mako is an exceptional swordsman, though not exactly the best, he is still quite dangerous with a blade. Channeling his raiton chakra through his custom made sword makes him an even more effective swordsman and drastically increases the cutting ability of his weapon allowing him to even cut through weapons with a regular level of durability.
