APPEARANCE HEIGHT 6'7" (200 cm) WEIGHT 200 (91 kg) Upon looking at Souzen, one may perhaps find that the young man looks a bit odd at first glance if not used to his appearance. Hailing from a land northeast of the Kaijuu Ocean, Souzen wears a tan evenly across the expanse of his skin like the majority of the population of the continent he hails from, which only serves to give accent to his features. Souzen is widely regarded as remarkably handsome throughout the land by those who have lived after seeing his face from young to old. His eyes hold a very menacing stare, but are very captivating in their appearance. His sclerae are violet in color, his irises are an ice blue in color which is a condition of his bloodline ability, similar to the crimson eyes of the Sharingan famous from the Uchiha clan. The bridge of his nose rests high on his face, leading toward his hard cut mouth usually worn in a small smirk that marks him with a stoic air to himself. Souzen has long brown hair the stops just beneath his shoulders. His hair is nicely wind swept to the back with a lone strand hanging in front of his face. Souzen stands tall at 200 cm even and weighs in at an even 91 kg, his frame is of an athletic build due to the strict regimen of training that he puts himself through as well as intensive dietary restrictions he's limited himself of as further training. As for clothing, it can be said that Souzen has quite the sense of fashion. Going for comfort rather than designer fashion, his clothes are made from expensive cloth that provides the utmost comfort for its wearer, while still maintaining a very fashionable and regal appearance very fitting for a Lord. Starting with his undermost layer, Souzen wears a red long-sleeved high collared shirt made of a breathable silken material and matching compression pants that end just above his knee caps. His second layer consists of a large black vest that features intricate gold trimmings and what seem to be extended shoulder pads. The vest features a single gold button on the right side of the vest just above his chest. Firmly tied around the waist of his outfit is a violet sash that is long enough to fold over his abdomen and stop just above his knees, which hidden beneath is his pouch of items, which is seated on the opposite side of his sword. Next, Souzen wears baggy white pants that extend all the way down his legs. His ninja sandals are black in color matching his vest. Souzen proudly wears the hitai-ate of his village wrapped around his forehead. The cloth red in color, with the symbol of his village branded onto the metal centered onto the cloth. His hitai-ate features horns in the top corners, a unique feature of the Demon Lord's hitai-ate. . | ||||||||
PERSONALITY The mind is a terrible thing to waste. Souzen cares for very little besides himself though because of his general arrogance he feels that every thing within Oni no Kuni is a reflection of himself giving him a jaded sense of care about the nation as a whole. When he was younger this feeling extended mostly to his his clan members which is why he tried so hard to help his clan learn control. His arrogance is so intense that he has a hard almost impossible time realizing his faults and recognizing mistakes. However this does not extend to others as he is brutally honest about others shortcomings and mistakes and tends to dole out haphazard punishments to the point where the ones being punishment are uneasy about what exactly their punishment would be. This all serves as a means to manipulate those around him to doing his bidding. Due to his arrogance and manipulative ways he has developed a bit of a god complex where he believes he has the divine right to rule and he cannot be wrong. His charisma also attracts a number of followers which helped solidify the making of Yamigakure, many of which he would not hesitate to send on potential suicide missions if for his own personal benefit, expressing some remorse if they're unable to properly complete a task, having no sentimental attachments to any of them despite their values. His manipulations is complimented by his charisma and intelligence. Having been born to someone who had a genius level intellect Souzen himself was born with incredible wits. Also, he is very analytical when it comes to body movements; and what it means in relation to how a person is thinking and/or feeling about the situation that they are in. He has a very short temper that can be easily set off by one of the many things that set him off. When he gets mad it is drastically, He becomes almost completely homicidal and while he never loses control of himself he gets the urge to kill like most other members of his clan. | ||||||||
HISTORY Souzen was birthed into a land that no one really cared about within a clan that no one cared about. Any glory that their little country could have eked out was stolen from them by Mizu no Kuni their next door neighbors and proverbial big brother. Oni no Kuni had a formidable ninja army within the water second best only to those of Mizu no Kuni. His clan were though of as nothing but savages and wild animals even to the people of their own nation due to the constant threat of the members going berserk due to their own power. All in all Souzen never felt much hope for his future as he grew up. He understood that his clan were not savages mainly because of his father who did his very best to control his outburst and violent tendencies and for the most part pulled it off. His mother who was never much one for the ninja life was a stay at home mom and never joined in on the raids that his father did. Most members of the Akuma clan had a hard time finding work as most jobs where long term raids out at sea and no one wanted to risk being aboard a ship in the middle of the sea when a clan member went savage. Souzen's father managed by somehow being able to control his outburst and using that control to limit when he went savage to when the raid had started he became a valuable asset to the nation as the clans skills were amazing. No one could argue against the Akuma clan being powerful most just figured that the risk was not worth the firepower they brought to the table. That all changed when his father showed that the Akuma can can be trusted on a ship. Pretty soon more and more Akuma clansmen were allowed to go on raids which meant more and more success of the raids and less people that were dying within Oni no Kuni. for the first time in a very long time Oni no Kuni was thriving and not just surviving, though they had a long way to go before being able to match places such as Mizu no Kuni they were the best among the minor nations and the only one that had any chance of standing up with the greater nations. By the time his father started teaching him to utilize the clans method of fighting Souzen was afraid that he would not be able to control himself properly and would ruin his clans standing by going crazy on a ship and ruining a raid. To this end his father whom was the new found leader of the clan due to the prosperity he brought to it ushered in a new way to make sure that the other clans did not stop taking the Akuma with them on raids. Until the clan member could handle their outburst on their own they would need to be paired up with someone who could so that they would always have someone with them that could calm them down. This worked out amazingly as it was not only kids that were having issues learning to control and minimize their outburst but some adults too and these individuals were starting to get shunning out of the raids with this system in place this would not happen. This system also increased the odds of a raids success as adding the extra manpower of another Akuma clan member while also increasing their effectiveness due to the members of the clan being able to clam each other down meant that their combat power increased a lot. Souzen was paired with his father and did most of his training on ships during raids which gave him excellent battle experience at a young age. This is also when he learned his father's secret to how he was able to overcome his episodes of violence. Having always been a smart man and believing that a brain is a terrible thing to waste Souzen's father studied their Kekkei Genkai to better understand what it was about it that caused them to spiral out of control the way that they did. This is when he found out about the natural energy that they were constantly absorbing and using an abundance of chakra was leaving them with an excess of natural energy within their bodies which made them go crazy. There were many way to use the excess natural energy which would curb the clan members from going off the handle but in Souzen's opinion his father came up with and passed on to him the smartest of the way to use the natural energy. His father learned of a way to use natural energy much like his used chakra and by switching between the two depending on how his reserves looked he would seemingly have an inexhaustible amount of chakra. However using raw natural energy for jutsu was weaker than using chakra and Souzen's father was attempting to come up with a way to mix the two together to create a new form of energy he could use to balance the use of both while also making his jutsu stronger. Souzen who took after his father intellectually also began to work on a way to meld the two energies together. By the time the Ten Tails appeared Souzen felt slighted that Oni no Kuni was not represented in the alliance and that his father was not asked to join the so called Gokage as he felt that his father was just as strong as any of them, though his father being a humble man never thought so himself. What was even more insulting is that the Gokage still expected Oni no Kuni to help and expected them to work under Mizu no Kuni as they figured that they both fought upon the water and the Mizu no Kuni would be able to place them best for the plan to fight the Ten tails. Souzen felt as if the Gokage was saving the best battles for themselves and were stationing Oni no Kuni to fight the weaker clones that made up the army. Due to the war with the ten tails his father had to put a hold on his idea of mixing the natural energy and chakra to make a new form of energy but Souzen figured that this was just the push he needed in order to show him that he was just as strong as the Kage and deserved a much bigger role in the fight. The battles raged on longer and harder than before and Souzen mainly worked on melding the two energies within him trying to crack it and give his father everything he needed to become just as strong as the Gokage. He realized how dangerous the mixing the energies because of this he did not want to share his mixing of the energies until he knew how and could give proper instruction on how to mix them to each of the clan members. It was not until the Gokage called a meeting did Souzen make any headway with mixing the energies. However as Oni no Kuni was not invited to the meeting or to the battle that preceded it Souzen felt slighted and decided to tell his father of his progress with mixing energies into what is now called Senjutsu Chakra and Sage Mode. Upon showing his father how he did it something bad happened his father could not handle the change and petrified into stone. Oni no Kuni was no longer needed in the war effort since the Gokage had their legendary jutsu to deal with the Ten Tails which was just fine with Souzen as he had work to do with bringing his father back. He needed to first figure out why his father had been petrified as he was able to access this Sage Mode without any trouble. He traveled far and wide looking for answers when he happened upon a land inhabited by summoned animals at first he paid them no mind as he was in no way looking for a summon animal, however when one of them mentioned the fact that they sensed Natural Energy radiating from him that he decided that he would not just move on. The summons taught him a bit about Natural Energy none of it was a surprise except for one part which the animals told him about the requirements needed for achieving Sage Mode and the consequences of not having said requirements. After several months of running through possibilities the animals helped him find out that his father was gone and there was nothing he could do to bring him back. He would make his way back to Oni no Kuni which was good news as for the country as a whole as it was starting to get bigger with all the advances that came from the war. Fighting and training with the other nations was new for Oni no Kuni as no one really looked their way due to them being out shined by Mizu no Kuni. However once they got around the other ninja they were introduced to new jutsu and new ways of fighting that advanced the greatly. Once he got back within the country he was swarmed by most of the clans within the country asking for them to lead them in what they were calling the first hidden village that was not backed by the second coming of the Gokage. They wanted him to lead them as the lord of this hidden village. He liked the idea of making a village of Shinobi out of the Shinobi that the "great nations" looked down on to show them that they could be just as good as they are. They attempted to rush to make their village while the other nations were, however several problems persisted and they had to slow down as their daimyo could not work as fast as the ones from the "great nations". Sadly they were not able to finish their own village until two years after the other villages were finished though they finished ahead of schedule and the village was better than they had envisioned as well. They made their village public though they like the other villages made sure the hidden location stayed hidden. Souzen was made the Lord of Yamigakure and he placed the statue that his father had become in front of his front office to honor him. Souzen has great plans for Yami and intends for it to be just as great as the other nations and for himself to finally get the title of Onikage. | ||||||||
SPECIALIZATIONS: Kekkei Genkai: Due to the constant intake of natural energy, they are prone to mental instability, sporadically feeling sudden and uncontrollable urges to kill. The wielder's body can also secrete special fluids which, through means of Senjutsu chakra, allow them to transform parts of their bodies. While varied by appearance and function from user to user and even from use to use, the affected parts of their skin change color (the hair color also may change) and if the transformation occurs in the eyes, they change color as well. Seemingly, the risk of petrification from the imbalance of natural energy, appears to be non-existent. Being that the natural energy gathered can temporarily be balanced within the wielder of this ability, they can safely transfer their accumulated senjutsu chakra to another individual. SKILL RANK: A SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Souzen's abilities undoubtedly make him a dangerous individual. Like other members of his clan, Souzen possesses the ability known as Sage Transformation which allows him to use the natural energy he absorbs to transform his body at will. He can change what form he takes almost instantly and can isolate the transformation to specific parts of his body. Also due to this, Souzen possesses massive reserves of powerful chakra. However, because he absorbs natural energy constantly, he and his clansmen are prey to sporadic and involuntary surges of rage. NINJUTSU: SKILL RANK: B SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Having trained his whole life attempting to show those around him that he is just as good if not better than the "major nations", Souzen has pushed himself to become better in every aspect of being a shinobi, this is extended but not limited to ninjutsu. His knowledge and understanding ninjutsu of chakra flow, shape, and even nature transformation are extensive. Because of his studies and training, Souzen is knowledgeable in a variety of ninjutsu types and could use his arsenal for offensive and defensive purposes. His ninjutsu abilities are such that he can utilize Yin release a basic nature transformations in its pure form, He can use Fire Release to such a degree that he can combine it with his Yin release in order to bring inorganic matter to life. He can also control the temperature of his fire from scalding hot to lukewarm. He could also change the volume of any fire runs his chakra through. While his ninjutsu prowess is incredible is he is not as skilled as a ninjutsu specialist. TAIJUTSU: SKILL RANK: B SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Souzen's Taijutsu style mainly revolves around his Kekkei Genkai which makes him a surprising and versatile hand to hand combatant. The Kekkei Genkai gives him an adequate amount of speed and power while also having an incredible amount of versatility. Due to fighting on boats and other haphazard battlefields he has learned to fight on pretty much any battlefield, especially those that rock and sway and are uneven or in any way unstable. His strength and speed are relatively average for someone of his rank (which is incredible) but his true skill lies in adaptability, versatility, and catching an opponent off guard even while fighting them head on. His technique has been perfected to the point that he can fight on par with even a Taijutsu specialist of lower ranks though taijutsu specialist of his rank would still overcome him. BUKIJUTSU: SKILL RANK: B SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Growing up in a war strewn era Souzen like most others who grew up in the same time learned to use a weapon to compliment their fighting style. Whether it be kunai shuriken or swords Souzen has a proficiency in all things Bukijutsu while he is not a specialist in Bukijutsu he has enough skill in it to keep up with lower ranked specialist. His best art within the Bukijutsu family is by far Kenjutsu his ability with a sword his skill is enough that he could keep up with others of his rank though specialist of his rank would be able to overcome him in a sword fight after some time of battling. GENJUTSU: SKILL RANK: B SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Souzen has trained in Genjutsu just as much as he has trained his other abilities. Because of this he has the ability to recognize and combat most Genjutsu placed on him. He also knows enough about using Genjutsu that he could use it effectively in fights and even came up with several horror themed Genjutsu of his own. His Genjutsu skill is not the best but it is far from the worst and can be used against those with less than average Genjutsu prowess in order to tip the scales in Souzen's direction. FUUINJUSTU: SKILL RANK: B SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: Souzen's Fuinjutsu skill is on par with his other abilities making it formidable. His knowledge of Fuinjutsu is incredibly able to use and recognize the more common seals. He also has a decent amount of skill in using seals which allows him to fight using Fuinjutsu if need be. While he usually does not rely on Fuinjutsu in fights he could use it to supplement his fighting style making it harder to fight him due to versatility. | ||||||||

Due to the vast amount of chakra he has he was often compared to the ten tailed beast (though his chakra level are nowhere near the level of the ten tails it would be closer to the one tailed if anything) which makes him capable of outstanding feats. Mainly his ability to use more chakra consuming jutsu in a row without worrying too much on the drain in chakra it puts on him, as well as the ability to access sage mode unlike his father. Throughout his life he has attempted to push the capabilities of his chakra allowing him to mold any chakra that he transfers to other to better fit their specific chakra signature. He can also use that particular ability to mold his natural energy in someone's body allowing them to use a sage jutsu even if they themselves are not sages. This is made easier if they have the requirements for being a sage but can be done even for those without the ability so long as he does not give them too much or use it too often back to back which would petrify and kill them (cannot be used against enemies to petrify them). Perfect Sage Mode A specialized field of techniques that allows the user to sense and then gather the natural energy around a person, this is called Senjutsu. Senjutsu practitioners can then learn to draw the energy of nature inside of them blending it with their own chakra (created from spiritual and physical energy within the shinobi), adding a new dimension of power to the sage's chakra, resulting in the creation of "senjutsu chakra". This chakra cannot be seen by anyone other than those who have been trained in senjutsu. This new chakra enables the user to enter an empowered state called Sage Mode, which can then drastically increase the strength of all Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and Taijutsu. A person who is able to use senjutsu is called a sage. Created by Souzen after the failed attempts of his father, Souzen was able to master the usage of this style of fighting. Inspired by his father's failed attempts to mix natural energy with chakra, after many years Souzen was the first of his clan's history to actually have success in doing so, becoming the first Sage of his clan, and by extension the entire world. Having perfected his usage of senjutsu, Souzen's abilities have all grown exponentially from their base levels. The first experience he's had is through the morphing of the environment around himself through inanimate objects, before then learning how to morph his own body through the use of 'Sage Transformation' which forms the basis of many of his clans personal techniques. His jutsu can become stronger than their usual levels by applying senjutsu to them, allowing for an extra kick behind his jutsu. Souzen also experiences an increase in various other areas of physicality. When entering Sage Mode, his strength, speed, stamina, reflexes, durability and even his level of perception take an increase from their usual levels through the vitality given through Sage Mode. Souzen also gains a sensory ability that allows him to sense the flow of chakra around him (100m distance), which can allow him to sense incoming attacks without needing to physically see them coming first. Madness of Fear Souzen's chakra is one of the strongest to date within the shinobi world, when released in a darkly colored flowing aura it carries with it the intense feeling of fear, and has been described as "inexhaustible". The resulting aura is so potent that it can affect almost anyone across great distances, including high ranking ninja or even boss level summons, but its effects are most potent within a distance of 100 meters. Even if Souzen is not consciously focusing his chakra, the effects seem to seep from his body, capable of causing weaker minded shinobi to become overwhelmed with fear. The chakra itself prods and incites the fear that lies deep within the human soul, causing them to experience horrific illusions or even hallucinations, become paralyzed due to the fear coursing through their bodies, or even in some cases causing them to go temporarily insane with madness. This could, in turn, awaken the evil hidden within a person which boosts his hold over an individual, or even allow for the manipulation of an individual by ruling through fear. This ability, because of its unique power, can not only potentially incite political and international disasters, but even awaken dormant shinobi abilities and potential enemies who have been inactive for whatever reason. In summary, this SA translates into Souzen's chakra being strong enough to be felt physically and affect his surroundings when focused or exerted. The area in which his chakra can be felt covers a vast area, this is however, purely aesthetic. However, the range of effect his chakra has for such things as causing weaker shinobi to become afraid/paranoid, hallucinate horrific illusions, inspire a sudden loss of sanity, experience paralysis, awaken dormant abilities or even manipulation through fear is 100 meters from Souzen's body. Additionally, only shinobi with a Will Power SA could resist Souzen's chakra's effects or not be overcome by it's essence. Nature's Own Being from a clan that constantly absorbs natural energy has many perks. It seemingly puts each member at one with nature being able to find solace and peace whenever they are within nature. As such Souzen is less inclined to be met with one of his episodes when surrounded by nature. Which is one of the reasons that it was so hard to get accustomed to sailing on a ship so far from nature. As such he can speak to animals and not only do they understand and obey him he can also understand them. This is easier to do with smaller and timid animals though even larger and more aggressive animals can be coaxed into listening to him given some time. This could come in handy a myriad of ways from scouting to tracking and can even be useful when he needs someone to confide in but does not want to share his secrets with anyone that may use them against them. Familiars and summons are harder to coax into doing what he wants them to do and if they are on opposite sides of the fight coaxing a PC's familiar or summon is all but impossible unless the ninja is weak or inexperienced. Also as a friend of nature animals are not afraid of him or find him to be a threat instead they seek him out and attempt to befriend him. Which is very useful when in a new area or one that he is not very familiar with as he can get the lay of the land from any animal he happens across. Larger and more aggressive animals take more time to befriend because of their combative nature but eventually they all come around. This can be extended to use on NPC familiars and summons as a hesitation to attack to downright not attacking at all depending on the level of said familiar or summon. For PC's it is much harder but not altogether impossible though the higher the level of the PC and the longer the familiar and summon have been together the harder it becomes. Lastly he is an excellent tracker as he can notice any unnatural presence within natural. This includes but is not limited to bent blades of grass to scuffs upon tree branches. Using this ability to see when things in nature has been tampered with he could track anyone without the use of his sensing abilities if need be. Also because of this he has the ability to travel through nature without leaving a trace behind for anyone to pick up on due to him being able to be at one with nature and move without disturbing it. Slow Start Because of his nature he cannot start a fight at full power. He tends to unconsciously hold back whenever he is fighting to make sure that his opponent can handle the pressure. This is also used so that he does not overuse his abilities and succumb to the violent outburst that his clan are subject to. When fighting no matter how skillful and powerful he may seem it most likely is not his full strength as no matter what he cannot pull out his full strength until his back is against the wall. Because of this he is almost never fighting at full power and their is always more strength or speed he can pull out of the reserves though if he is beat before he can pull this out because he was not fighting at full capacity is what makes this ability such a double edge sword. However what makes the ability so good is the fact that it can be used to surprise his opponent with a sudden increase of power giving him the upper hand he needs to turn a losing battle around. Battlefield Adaptability Souzen has fought on many terrains as a member of the raids that took place in the early portion of Oni no Kuni's history. As such he is more akin to a pirate with ninja skills as such terrain hardly ever bothers his fighting style and strategy. As such he can adapt to changes with his environment while fighting at a moments notice being able to fight just as well on land in the air or underwater. This makes no difference to him and his fighting style hardly changes from terrain to terrain. He has the ability to adjust to fighting pretty much anywhere and the composure to keep his cool under high stress battles. Because of this he is best when switching from terrain to terrain in order to overwhelm and trip up his opponent. He sometimes like to start a fight by rapidly switch the terrain in which the fight is taking place to better get a feel for which terrain gives his opponent the most trouble then sticking to that terrain which fighting though switching terrain is not a large part of his fighting style the skill comes in handy when being used as it catches most off guard and unable to defend against it. | ||||||||
