CLAN TYPE:-- Kekkei Genkai VILLAGE:-- Yamigakure no Sato ORIGIN: -- Oni no Kuni CLAN HISTORY: -- Hundreds of rumors and stories attempt to pin down the exact nature of the Mishima clan, and their history within the world. One says that their founder signed a terrible contract and bound his soul and the souls of his descendants to cruel demons. Another says that the Mishima clan are in reality demons themselves, operating under some great illusion to better appear as people and slowly plot the ruination of the world. Truly, their reputation is fearsome and bitter, but the origin of their powers remain a mystery. The founder of the Mishima clan was Mishima Kenpachi, a fearsome shinobi and an unparalleled warrior. They say he was born on the battlefeild, cut from the womb of his mother by the blade of her killer. During the clan wars, the Mishima attempted to keep to themselves, preferring to reap what they sowed upon the land without trouble. However, once trouble reared they did not shy away, and typically took things to the next level from there. The Mishima were not big on allowing enemies to live, nor about leaving possible threats to fester and grow. Of the nine clans that for sure clashed with the Mishima during the clan wars, seven were wiped from the face of the earth, Kenpachi and his inner circle showing no mercy to those that had crossed his clan. When the 10 tails clones appeared, many of the other clans were surprised to discover the Mishima join the fighting. In Truth, Kenpachi Mishima was a battle hungry warlord who's subconscious desire for a peaceful life for his clan only barely kept him from waging war on most everything he could see. But Kenpachi would never miss the chance to engage a ten tails. Kenpachi died peacefully after the ten tails incident, accomplishing his goal in life to fight a creature of 'unquestionable hatred'. He left the clan to his youngest son, Juugo. His oldest son, Irachi, had been purposefully passed over for the title. Irachi was a malicious individual who shared his father's bloodlust but none of his restraint, which caused to leave the calmer and more cautious Juugo the duty instead. Irachi's sense of honor kept him loyal to the clan despite this... for a time. However, after one year Irachi awoke his kekkei genkai, being only the second in his clan to do so (the first being Kenpachi). Overcome with murderous intent and fierce pride, Irachi attempted to slay his brother Juugo and take control of the clan. When they fought to a stalemate instead, Irachi fled into the night and become one of if not the first 'missing-nin' despite the term not being widely in use. Juugo continued to govern the Mishima while at the same time trying to keep tabs on and reign in Irachi. Meanwhile Irachi utilized his powers on a murderous spree of destruction that reached far beyond the Mishima's home country. Eventually as other clans began to hunt him Irachi went dormant, and Juugo was taken by a sudden illness in his sixtieth year. Juugo's death unfortunately sent the clan into a downward spiral for a time. Juugo had sired many children of close age, and had not named a successor before his death. Many argued his oldest daughter Yuchi should be given the title, but her brothers Hideki, Nishiki, Rikiya and Satoru also had supporters. In the end the only sibling left alive was the latter, Satoru. Despite being wholly unwilling to take the mantle at first, he was drawn into the civil war after his brother Nishiki murdered their sister Yuchi in cold blood. Satoru would grow to be a powerful shinobi and would be the next to unlock his clan's kekkei genkai. Satoru grew to the age that it would be acceptable to retire and he did so, passing the head position of the clan down to his incredibly capable son Kazuo. His name became fairly infamous for a reason other than his position: his heated rivalry with his son, Takeo. The two clashed constantly over disagreements of varying size and importance. When Kazuo passed, Takeo took his position.
