Welcome
Who's ready for a rebellion?
Welcome to NRB ~ An AU Naruto Role Play created by life long friends and inspired by many different RPs that we've created or Rp'd on. NRB is about creating your own shinobi or Kunoichi within the early years of the Shinobi Village system. The fun of the site is to not only go on awesome adventures as the likes of Naruto or even Kakashi but to also get your character recognition and raise their Rank and Legendary status by gaining experience and achieving legendary feats.

Michio stood at the base of Bumiyama, Stomp Mountain. The mountain itself was normal, ignoring it's pyramid shape. It also screwed up his chakra, but that was to be expected of any mountain among the Seven Mountain Range. Today Michio would begin his newest goal: to climb every mountain on the Seven Mountain Range.
He had decided to start at Bumiyama as his grandfather had suggested it. This was of course after much teasing about Michio getting such a ridiculous and random idea. Bumiyama was, while not the shortest mountain, the one with the least side effects. His grandfather had even given him one of his old kunai to help him mark his progress. Michio looked towards the summit of the mountain, a smile wide on his face.
"It's time to begin The Great Beam's Climb To The Heavens!" He declared dramatically, pointing the old battered Kunai at the top of the mountain, which the sun was just rising over. He made a mental note of the title he had come up with for his new goal, placing the Kunai back in its holster and taking his literal first step on his climb. Little did he know that even this simple climb would be more difficult than he thought. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Michio climbed the mountain, and fairly easily for the first few miles. Even a genin possessed endurance far beyond any and all male adults. Even with the extremely steep incline, Michio could easily go twice as far as most adult males without tiring. As he walked Michio twirled his grandfather's kunai in hand.
He could remember his grandfather handing it to him after hearing Michio's goal. Michio was sitting respectfully in front of his grandfather, having just told him he planned to climb the tallest mountain in the seven mountain range, Hageyama or Bald Mountain. His grandfather chuckled deeply,
"You're going to climb Hageyama? What is next, gonna try and learn Hiraishin? Tankatajigakure?" His grandfather said, in his normal sarcastic tone. Michio heard this often when he did something that his grandfather knew from experience was going to far. Judging but his grandfather listing off A-rank ninjutsu, he was suggesting Michio had set too big of a goal for himself.
"Is it that hard?"
"Let me tell you a tale about a shinobi that existed long before even your father was born." Michio's grandfather stopped one he heard Michio give an audible sigh. This wasn't the first time Michio had been told of a 'story'. He was told them often, some times at random points. They never seemed to have a point, although Michio always gathered something from it, a piece of advice given to him by his mother. "I don't want to hear any attitude. I can tell a story if I want to. I'm old. Besides kids love stories. Now then, where was I? Oh right, shinobi." His grandfather began, as Michio listened politely, having released that slight bit of attitude he kept locked up around his grandfather. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Michio's grandfather laughed a bit at his in granchild's nativity. "Well, lets just start with climbing a normal mountain already would be a challenge for genin. Then add to that that all the mountains sucks out chakra, and the decreasing oxygen, you'd probably die. And I'm not even bringing up the other factors that kill most jonin."
Michio became noticeably deflated. His grandfather sighed and began speaking again. "How about another story." Before he could continue Michio let out an audible sigh, having heard his father give multiple stories. "Shut your trap. I'm old, you're gonna listen to my stories. Why use what time I have left with questions? Now where was I? Oh, right, story. There were once two shinobi stranded on an island, fighting a war with men who had enslaved them and their loved ones. They were a father and son duo, the father being old and wise, while the son had a contagious energy that could inspire anyone around him. The two were talented in Ninjutsu, but their true strength was in engineering, combining chakra with inventions to create high powered gadgets, which could turn the tide of many battles. However they were loosing the war, on the account of being vastly outnumbered. So rather than take the land back, they decided to flee. Using their engineering and ninjutsu knowledge, they created wings that could fly them all the way to a far away island. So, taking themselves and their followers, and using their chakra to power the machines, they flew away from their slavers to freedom. However the son was impatient. He thought if he used more chakra to make the machines move faster, he'd get to the island faster. His father however, warned him that if he used more chakra, he'd run out before they got there, and it would be better to spread it out. The son sadly didn't listen, wanting to be one of the first there. So using his chakra, he tripled his speed, rushing towards the island. As he reached halfway through, the mechanism stalled. He checked the gears and everything around him, there was nothing jamming it, and the mechanism was oiled perfectly. It was then that he realized, it wasn't the machine that was broken, but him failing to give it fuel. As he fell towards the waters below, he saw everyone else pass him, and then he died." Michio's grandfather finished his story, looking Michio in the eye.
Michio thought for a bit: what could his grandfather mean by that? The man had died because he tried to bet he fastest. So was that an allegory for him decided to instantly go for the hardest mountain he could choose? Yes that had to be it. So he'd go after the easiest one he could think of: Bumiyama. "Thank you grandfather!" Michio called to him as he ran for out the door for his goal. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Finally the first few miles had passed. Michio had made good progress, having reached the half way without a hindrance. However, as he walked he could feel himself growing more and more tired, certainly more than he should have been. His energy was draining. He hadn't noticed till now, but why was it happening?
He then remembered his grandfather's words. The mountains absorbed chakra. Both his spiritual and physical energy were being sucked from his body and into the mountain...the heck did the mountain want with his chakra anyways? But he had to continue. He couldn't just faint here. Picking up the pace, he began to run double time up the mountain. He made sure not to use any chakra, relying purely on his muscles. He was Michio Sotaru, and he will NOT be stopped here.

The rest of his journey would be grewling. The next strength would end with Michio beginning to sweat. After that, he would begin to breath rapidly, as an attempt to get in more air with each step. Another leg and he would become drenched in sweat. Even further and he would be heaving. When he finally did reach the top, Michio couldn't feel his leg.
Drawing the kunai his grandfather had given him, Michio plunged it into the top of the mountain, sharpening it with his quickly waning chakra. Falling over, he found himself without the energy to get back up, or even move from the waist down. He had no way down the mountain. Seeing no way down, Michio knew the fastest way down was one way: rolling. Hurling himself to another side of the mountain, he let his body go limp and began rolling down the mountain. Do to the smooth nature of the particular mountain he was on, he rolled easily, with little injuries. However, that was not the threat here. The threat was the momentum he was gaining. As he rolled, he slowly became faster and faster. While this was no problem on the slope down, it would be once he hit the rock ground. If he did not stop himself in some way before he hit the ground, he would have several broken bones. As Michio fell/rolled, he debated what to do. While he could use Kinobori no Waza, but with how weak his muscles are combined with the momentum, he'd just tear up his hands and break his arms. If he hit the rocky ground he WOULD have several bones broken, but at least he would not be bleeding severely. It seemed to be the better option of the two. So he rolled with it, tumbling until he hit a large rock far from the base of the mountain, even going over it and landing on the other side. While his momentum had decreased significantly, it was not enough that he would be without injury. His left arm, and ribs were broken in several areas. He could not move until he replenished chakra, and even then the journey home would be painful. So for now he would rest next to the rock he hit, enjoying being in the shade after having been directly in the sun for so long. MADE BY VEL OF GS
