YOSEIKEI CLAN |
VILLAGE: Sunagakure ORIGIN: Kaze no Kuni CLAN HISTORY: The Yoseikei are a clan that began as many smaller desert nomad families, that eventually came together to form the Yoseikei Clan as it is seen in present times. To be more specific, the Yoseikei are made of 4 different clans originally, the Yoi, Kei, Shaku, and Hosshin. For many years they lived together in peace, using one of the desert's many oases for sustenance. These clans obviously began to breed together and eventually after hundreds of years they mashed their names together and formed the Yoseikei Clan. The breeding with the Shaku and Hosshin clans were essential to the development of the clan's kekkei genkai, with the two families marrying each other, and into the Yoi and Kei families as well. It was during these hundreds of years that every member started to show their affinity towards and abilities with shakuton, the Shaku contributing the affinity towards shakuton, and the Hosshin giving the family members the ability to have stronger, more durable and resistant skin. The family that took charge for the most part, or was the 'alpha' family was the Kei. They were the most charismatic and affable people of the 4 families, and the others agreed that they had everyone's best interests at heart. The Leader of the clan when the ten-tails emerged 50 years ago was a woman by the name Jikei, and she was the one that convinced the members of the Yoseikei clan to join the war to control the ten-tails which had just emerged. She lead the clan on into the battle, and died 8 years into the war, being killed by the ten-tails itself. She was followed by the next woman chosen by the clan elders, as was the woman after that, and the woman after that. The Yoseikei were seen as great contributors to the Formation Wars, especially because of their Shakuton techniques, and their perceived battle prowess. Because of their contributions, they became a respected clan in Kaze no Kuni. The leader of the clan when the War of the Five Shadows began was a woman named Airi. Airi was chosen to be one of the Kaze no Kuni generals during the War of the Five Shadows. She was proved to be essential to the Kaze no Kuni efforts while subduing thing Juubi. Airi survived the war, but retired from battle, and also from her position as clan leader. She felt it was time for another to take up the mantle, and that there were younger, stronger women in the clan that could serve better as their leader. The next leader of the Yoseikei did not last very long, only 6 years. This leader was a woman named Aoi, she was chosen by Airi and the elders because she had proven to be a great lieutenant to Airi during the War of the Five Shadows, proving to have a good head on her shoulders, being able to handle herself well in times of stress, and by making good decisions as well. This, unfortunately, would not be the case when it came to Aoi leading the clan. Aoi turned rogue during her time as the clan leader, abusing what power she did have. She supported the man who was the front runner to become the Nidaime Kazekage, when the village of Sunagakure was formed, a powerful man by the name of Miyawaki Taro, but she quickly turned her back on him. She quickly developed the notion that she should be the Kazekage and that she needed to kill the candidates for Kazekage. Aoi tried to recruit her clan members to help her with her idea, but they did not. Though that did not stop Aoi from assassinating the Kazekage candidates one by one. It was a woman named Ijino that initially realized that Aoi was up to something that would not bode well for her or the reputation of the Yoseikei Clan. Ijino warned the clan elders of Aoi's actions, but the elders were resistant and did not believe Ijino, believing Aoi to be the level headed woman she was during the war. Ijino was still suspicious of Aoi, and had taken to tracking her moves, and she also warned the village council members of Aoi's notions, but she was ignored then as well. Unfortunately, the non-action would lead to the worst event to take place in Kaze no Kuni history. The assassinations of the Kazekage candidates by Yoseikei Aoi. Because Ijino had formed the habit of following Aoi, she was present for the final assassination, but unfortunately wasn't able to save either the Miyawaki Taro, or her clan mate. Aoi had released a shakuton technique that had never been seen before, one that she had been working on in secret, and the effect of the jutsu was so huge, that it killed both her and the potential Kage, and leaving Ijino badly injured, burning all of her hair off and leaving burns over her arms, as she used her skills to contain the jutsu so it didn't spiral out of control and engulf the half of the village before succumbing to death herself. After this took place, the village elders and council members took a long time deciding what was to be done with the Yoseikei clan because of their leader's actions. It took 2 months before they came out with their decision to pardon the Yoseikei clan of the previous leader's actions, and not holding the clan responsible for one members actions, but only because of the actions of Ijino, and the warnings she had tried to give, but had fallen upon deaf ears. Within time they would find a new clan leader and their relationship with the village was not tarnished by Aoi. CLAN IDEOLOGY: The Yoseikei are a relatively peaceful clan, that wish for only peace, and have no desire to create much conflict at all. They are a group of mostly kind people, with a few bad seeds here and there as most families do, but they value honor, peace, and tranquility. Though despite this, all members of the Yoseikei Clan are known for their temper that flares up beyond no compare when provoked, which coincides well with their scorching hot abilities. Though, depending on the person, it may take only something little to provoke their anger, or it may be very hard to anger them. The clan shares a duality with its abilities, with sometimes being as hot-headed as their fireballs, or as calm as a soft breeze. CLAN ABILITIES: SHAKUTON | SCORCH RELEASE Members of the Yoseikei Clan are endowed with exceptional use of both katon and fuuton chakra, allowing them to fuse the two chakra types together to form shakuton release. The combination of both katon and fuuton allows shakuton to have an unmatched level of heat, with its most powerful techniques being able to evaporate the water out of a human body. Shakuton release can also be used in the form of balls of fire that are able to burn hotter than that of the unrelenting desert sun. Because of the Yoseikei's prowess in their advanced element, they are also able to use their base chakra affinities of katon and fuuton, individually as well as in tandem with each other. NEAR INDESTRUCTIBLE SKIN Because of the Yoseikei Clan's long years in the harsh environment of the sand sea of Kaze no Kuni, from the stinging sand, to the harsh heat and sun as well as their use of their scorch techniques, the clan members have developed a skin that is resistant to the elements and harm. The heat only effects them 1/3 as much as it effects other people, and their skin is more resistant to physical damage, shuriken when throw from a distance cause minimal to no damage, where as larger weapons and weapons used during hand to hand combat, can damage but takes more effort from the attacker due to the thicker skin. However, chakra infused weapons have an easier time causing damage and breaking their skin. CLAN HIERARCHY: The Yoseikei are a matriarchal family, who are lead by an elected clan leader. This leader is a woman who is the pinnacle of the Yoseikei ideologies and their kekkei genkai abilities. The leader is elected by a council of clan elders, which is usually comprised of former clan leaders, as well as elder male members of the clan. The Leader of the Yoseikei is always a strong female member of the family. A female, simply because of tradition because it was a woman who took charge and made the Yoseikei a clan of note within Kaze no Kuni. When the leader of the Yoseikei reaches a point where either they die, or must retire from their duties as shinobi because of weakness and old age. When this point comes, 3 candidates are put up for consideration by members of the clan, then the elders take 72 hours to discuss and then decide who is to become the leader based on their traits as a person, leader, and shinobi.
