Fauna & Flora Missions
Hi no kuni has a vast range of unique fauna and flora; because chakra is the source of all life on the plant even the animals and plant life of Hi no kuni could prove disastrous for the nation and it’s human citizens. In light of recent events involving the Hokage and his Young Ward. Nidaime Hokage has Issued missions for the capture of the animals and unique flora whose chakra is naturally on par with human’s or even shinobi. The Hokage has ordered that most of the flora and fauna be kept alive, with shinobi only able to deal lethal blows if the situation calls for it or if their specifically exterminating. This is to not only understand more about these creatures and chakra in general but to also control their population, especially the more dangerous predators. As a man of knowledge, Issho has dedicated himself and his shinobi to the protection of knowledge, their villagers and nature. That said his shinobi must preserve culturally precious items or species of animals and plants they are able to discover within their homeland. D-Rank Name of Mission: "Maple Syrup ey?" Mission Requirements: Solo or Full Genin Team (jounin optional but recommended) Rank of Mission: D Random NPC Enabled: Optional Member NPC/Staff NPC: Staff Mission Description: There have been reports of strange sapling like creatures healing natives and foreigners alike, within the immediate forest outside the walls of Konoha. Considered the village outskirts and the entrance or beginning of the Hi no kuni forest, this area is mostly visited by civilians and shinobi leaving or entering the village. While the creatures pose no threat currently, the Hokage has ordered for the capture of a specimen. The saplings are small plant-like creatures but have chakra on par with human’s making them sentient beings. While they are usually gentle creatures, when threatened they known to bite with razor sharp teeth. It should be noted that reports confirm that the saplings are as fast and agile as wild rodents, such as squirrels and rabbits. It should be noted that this is a espionage mission and as such losing track of their target or exposing ones presence to the population of saplings would result in the mission’s failure. It is a species of crimson-colored butterflies found on Hi no kuni. They are attracted to the scent of blood and taste of flesh, they have a habit of feeding off the open sores of bigger creatures. While retaining the usual butterfly size, these creatures are usually nothing but a nuisance however in larger numbers they can become dangerous. The pests are usually low in population, however a bloom in numbers has had a large effect on the surrounding farm's livestock. With even entire cattle consumed in a day. This nest us actually a smaller one formed from rogue butterfly who had ventured from an even larger nest. The main problem is that despite the current nest being smaller, its location is closer to the farms. As such a team of genin and their sensei is needed to exterminate the butterflies and burn the nest. The new species of mushroom are much like the other unique flora within the world, having a chakra signature that’s naturally on par with human’s. Because of this the mushrooms have become slightly humanoid in nature. Growing facial features along it’s stalk and even sprouting arms and legs. These certain mushroom are about the size of an average cat, and came in a multitude of colors usually with white spots. Besides the hallucinogenic spores, the mushrooms pack a nice punch, however they are slow and not very durable. C-rank Name of Mission: Trail of blood-tterflies? Armed with new information, Issho has Issued this mission in hopes of locating the main nest. The squad of shinobi is to first pick up on any leads from the prior mission area and use them to locate the cave or track the movements of the butterflies. Ultimately finding the main nest. It should be noted that you might not find the nest the first time around. Name of Mission: Exhilarated Extermination: The Academy’s Bad Trip Mission Requirements: Full Genin squad w/ jounin, solo Chunin, chunin squad[jounin Optional] Rank of Mission: C Random NPC Enabled: Yes Member NPC/Staff NPC: Yes Mission Description: As a result of destroying the field of unique mushroom the village have now named, Yoru no fūdo or Night Hood. Multiple spore releases has caused the pestering mushroom to bloom within the village, to be exact the buggers have sprouted first within the Ninja Academy's small training field behind the school. This means the mushrooms are releasing their hallucinogenic spores within the village, but with the academy taking the brunt of the spore. Luckily, the mushroom have only spread to this localized training ground. The shinobi accepting this mission is to eliminate the mushrooms before they can spread, while subduing any unruly child who are hyped up on spore. B-rank Name of Mission: Rescue Mission: Retrieve the Ugly Hag Mission Requirements: Chunin Squad w/ jounin or Solo Jounin Rank of Mission: B Random NPC Enabled: Yes Member NPC/Staff NPC: Yes Mission Description: A distress signal has been seen lightning up the night sky. Konoha officials have posted this emergency mission within moments of the flare being seen. A woman has been attacked within the dense Hi no kuni forest, unbeknownst to the rescue team a lizard like creature known throughout Hi no kuni simply as Motherglare, is responsible for the incident. Motherglare is a actually a species of lizard born with chakra on par with human’s. However, Motherglare is one of the eldest specimen found alive to date. Because of this her natural chakra has been pushed well beyond that of an ordinary human and is actually on par with the likes of shinobi. The shinobi accepting this mission is to rescue the old woman and capture motherglare for research as ordered by the Hokage. It is unofficially mentioned that Motherglare takes top priority. Name of Mission: Uprooted: A New Home Mission Requirements: Chunin Squad w/Jounin, Solo Jounin. Completion of “Strapping Sapling” Rank of Mission: B Random NPC Enabled: Yes Member NPC/Staff NPC: Yes Mission Description: Reports have come in that the sapling creatures that are now known as Iyashi no ki or healing tree have come under attack by Hi no Kuni natives. The attackers motives were for a quick way up the ladder, either by selling the creatures or using their healing power for personal gain. Having already studied the creatures the Hokage and Konoha's official have agreed that the saplings shouldn’t be hunted or killed. They were vital to Hi no kuni's ecosystems. As more and more reports of saplings found with missing limbs and clipped leafs reached Konoha, Issho had ordered the relocation of the entire population. The shinobi accepting this mission are to be escorts and protect the botany specialist overseeing the relocation and the saplings from harm. Name of Mission: Rumble in the Jungle Mission Requirements: Chunin team w/jounin, Solo Jounin(not recommended) or higher Rank of Mission: B Random NPC Enabled: No Member NPC/Staff NPC: Yes Mission Description: For the past few days Konoha’s sensor corps had beem receiving two chakra signatures locked in combat within the Hi no kuni's forest. The two signatures were eerily similar to human's, however Issho’s sensor force could tell that they had another sentient animal on their hands. Within the dense Forest of Death. Two large bears who housed enough chakra to be considered trained shinobi were fighting to the death. One bear called itself Mordoo, and was a black bear. Other went by the name O-kuma or great bear. Issho has ordered for the capture of both animals. Killing them means failure. |
