General Rules |
1) Proboards Terms of Service: First and foremost, all members of the site including staff must abide by ProBoards ToS. Violations include but is not limited to, Plagiarism, explicit content and cyberbullying. By creating an account on N: R you have agreed to follows Proboard's ToS and will refrain from violating their rules. That being said, we implore members to follow the ToS as the site could potentially be taken off the web if the terms are violated. We do not want this to happen as it wouldn't be fair to the staff who've come together to bring you a fun place to Role Play. 2) Respect Your Fellow Members: The staff here have spent a good amount of time to create a safe and fair environment to RP in a Naruto based world; That being said, all of us including staff come here expecting fun and adventure, therefore you should be respectful to every member of this site. We are not saying that you cannot have fun, as many of the staff tend to "boast" from time to time. However, should a problem arise between you and another member of this forum, please keep it civilized and make an attempt to solve it respectfully or through Private Messages. If by chance this doesn't work then alert a staff member and they will take over from there. Should there be anyone found disrespecting or cyberbullying a member after being asked to stop by said member or warned by staff, it will result in more strict punishments. The member will usually be warned, temporarily banned, be put on an extended banned period, and lastly permanently banned, depending on the situation. Respecting members, of course, extends to posting order as well, whereas sometimes someone may take to long to post in which case skipping them would be fine however please try your best to adhere to the posting order of threads out of respect for one another. 3) Respect Staff This rule goes hand and hand with the 2nd rule, The staff of N: R have taken a good amount of time to create Naruto: Rebellion and it's many different aspects, for to not only have a place for themselves to role play but also for other members as well. Yes....the staff here are actual members too, that being said everyone should treat them with respect and listen to what they have to say. Don't argue or try to fight with them, If you feel they misunderstood or missed something, feel free to mention it, but if they adamant about their decision then you comply with no further argument. If by any chance you want a second opinion from another staff member on a staff's ruling then you could go appeal for another staff member to review your application, citing the reasons why. It should be noted that we are staff members, but we are also people with everyday lives such as yourself, keep in mind that we tend to sleep a lot. Besides that, we just want to keep things fun and safe for everyone. 4) General Role Playing Requirement: N: R requires that you have an approved character profile before you can start roleplaying on the site, all starting customs such as jutsu, items, weapons and so forth must be approved before your character can be accepted. Profiles are to be written in the third person, this goes for RP threads too, it is also mandatory. You can have as many characters as you can handle; however, members must use separate accounts for each character they create, so that we staff can precisely gauge the activity, experience points and other crucial assets to a member's character. Additionally, each member account must reflect the name of their respective characters, with the exception of staff who will use their OOC or chat names. 5) The Usual: Lastly, the basic ground rules of Message Board Role Playing, which, if you have been on RPs before, are more than likely well acquainted with already. Don’t Godmod – The golden rule of any RP. Godmodding is a term coined for a number of different situations, like declaring hits or successful attacks on characters played by someone else, dodging every hit or as the name states basically being a "God' like character who is invulnerable. This also extends to controlling the other member's character without their consent. Don’t metagame – The ever-present companion to the first part of this rule. Discussion between players is fine, but you shouldn’t introduce any OOC knowledge into your IC posts unless the character has a reason to know it. This also includes internal monologues that the other character might have done, that you read, but your character didn’t hear. Every member has the right to ask staff to review a thread in the case of possible Godmodding or Metagaming situation, the staff would then decide on a course of action based on the thread and the respective characters. The punishment usually results in an auto-hit on the perpetrator or occ information given to the character who was wronged. |
