IT'S A PERFECT DAY
WON'T YOU TAKE A WALK WITH ME?
Umehime was blocking the song out entirely, until Toshi's voice reached her ears and then at that point, the change in his tone immediately changed her expression to that of complete and utter disinterest. She didn't have to look at him to see him, and everything about him screamed her father. Unfortunately as far as Ume was concerned, no man could hold a candle to the man she called father and Toshi mimicking him did no justice either. With an internal sigh, the girl would hear his words, however, she was unmoved and quite frankly.......as polite as she was, it didn't matter at this point. He could have made his point as himself, but in her mind, he used her father as a way to say what he normally couldn't and to her, no less...that was weak, however, at least he was serious for once. Toshi taking things seriously was warning enough and if anyone knew that, she did. That much, she would respect.
It was ironic that he was in a way doing the the same thing as her father yet entirely opposite. Umehime was was never enough as far as her father was concerned and so she sees herself as inadequate, needing to be better and stronger than she is at every waking moment of the day. If people have expectations, she feels the need to go above and beyond them on more than one level. Instead of speaking down, he was telling her about what he needed from her for their survival. That was not going to change her main issue but as stated before, she had chosen not to ignore his words entirely. choosing to simply allow Toshi to be Toshi, and lead because as much as she didn't submit to anyone, she did recognize his ability.
Accepting his words, she would to the direction though, as the formation moved. Umehime was a blank mask by this time and most would probably assume she was upset or put in her place. But the point of being a leader was also knowing when to follow and how to. If they kept arguing nothing would be done and someone could have died while they were paying no attention to the real issue. There was no time for in-fighting, aside from the possessed chakra Shinobi, there was plenty of shinobi dying around them or completing their own missions. Allowing her mind to focus completely, she zoned in, the world around her seemingly going silent as they moved, her eyes closed, ranging out as far as they allowed her. Toshi would start to speak, and though his words were heard about things being beyond dangerous, Umehime was no stranger to the word.
In her mind every situation in combat was life and death, but her focus remained on her task. She'd speak as Toshi pushed forward aggressively, "Two Uchiha from the left, one Akimichi from the right, one Inuzuka and his ninken from the rear. All are cloaked and they are charging. The birds alerted them of our location. We have cloaked civilians at the base of the building where the Akimichi is coming from. Keep the fighting away from them!" she'd speak loud enough for everyone in the group to hear. It was easy enough for her to tell, which clan they were from considering this was their home and she knew the village quite well, as did the others.
Toshi was right about one things, they would become the genin of a new legend when this was over, and so it was time to give them something to speak about after all. Umehime wasn't the least bit frightened, she was actually beyond excited, her father having created a child who sought to prove herself through combat alone. That was her validation in life, the only time she was ever truly worth something, and even then she wasn't enough. It was time to be better and do better, which had driven her, and would continue to. This was the start of her own story. "Here they come!!" she'd yell as soon as the Akimichi bounded over the side of the building from the left, however, he seemed to be intercepted by Saizo who was already on the move. That was the least of Umehime's worries, as the two Uchiha ran down the rubble, zigzagging as they charged straight toward her. Staying in formation, the Hyuga heiress would leap in midair to dodge the shuriken that had been hurled at her, during the Uchiha's descent, however, her lithe movement was barely seen as her arms flashed out, catching two of the shuriken that flew past. By this point the Uchiha were upon her and she would not disappoint.
One Uchiha had already used a Katon jutsu, aiming for her. To his dismay though, Umehime has used the momentum from her aerial spin wonce she landed, her body extremely low to the flor as she rotated, tossing both shuriken at the other Uchiha who was attempting to get behind her as she slid toward the Katon user. Upon skidding in front of him, her divination would appear beneath her, her eyes opening and narrowing into slits as the Uchiha attempted to move back, his katon jutsu having just ended as he missed, the fire having gone above her body. Umehime readied her stance as she was already low, prepared to strike. "Jūho: Sanjūni Shō!!" she'd call out as her body picked up speed. Using the Juho form was a calculated move as it did spend some chakra but she was stealing the chakra from her opponent as well, increasing her reserves at the same time. This battle could be prolonged, and so to be sure that she was be fit for combat, she wouldn't take any chances.
The Uchiha was fast, but not fast enough, as he only made it to the outskirts of her divination before she launched into him. Her arms seemed to blur as she hit the floating Uchiha multiple times, blocking tenketsu with each hit. "2 palms! 4 palms! 8 palms!" by this point, her arms had gone into overdrive, carefully placing the hits over the arms and chest as to stop the chakra from flowing as easily for ninjutsu in their tight formation. Her plan would probably work considering she was attempting to block the chakra that the Uchiha was currently receiving from Kyubi. "16 palms! 32 palms!" she'd say in a lower tone, her final hit, a full palm to the stomach that launched the Uchiha back to the slope. It seemed like her Uchiha was down, but she was making sure to stay in formation, her arms would reset, her body falling directly into the strong Hyuga style stance, still as a statue, to defend from anyone attacking from any position.
Her eyes could see everything, analyzing the battlefield. The Akimichi had moved towards the north, and Ume was already watching their back. The objective was to remain calm in any situation, for the moment you lost your head, death awaited. That was the first lesson beat into her. Her first opponent may have been down but who knew what else could happen. Fortunately, she knew Saizo couldn't have seen her entire attack, her mind having thought that out earlier, considering he had jumped the Akimichi as soon as he landed. At least he moved position away from the civilians.
Right now they couldn't go back. To their back were the hidden individuals they needed to protect. They couldn't fail, it wasn't an option.

Jutsu Used
1) NAME: Jūho: Sanjūni Shō [Gentle Step: Thirty-Two Palm]
RANK: C
TECH TYPE: Taijutsu
ELEMENT: N/A
CHAKRA USAGE: Low
DESCRIPTION: --
The Gentle Step Thirty-Two Palms is a Taijutsu of the Gentle Fist fighting style. It is essentially a halved version of the Gentle Step Sixty-Four Palms, but seems to be no less effective. This technique is used to absorb the chakra of thirty-two chakra points of an opponent's chakra pathway system. This energizes the user as their chakra store is somewhat increased, while at the same time draining the user of a low amount of chakra. Once someone is within range of their field of divination, the Hyuuga assumes their Gentle Fist stance and begins to deliver their attack:
First, two consecutive strikes to make two.
Second, another two consecutive strikes to make four.
Third, four consecutive strikes to make eight.
Fourth, eight consecutive strikes to make sixteen.
Fifth, another sixteen consecutive strikes in succession to make a total of thirty-two.
