CLAN TYPE: Kekkei Genkai VILLAGE: Konoha ORIGIN: Hi no Kuni CLAN HISTORY: -- The clan's history is one of constant battle and evolution. The Senju have always been a clan of warriors they have been waging war since they could remember and have always produced warriors making it so that anyone born into the clan is expected to learn to fight and live the way of the warrior. They were within the front lines of every single battle of note and have seen and practiced in pretty much every style of battle known to man making them experts when it comes to fighting and being shinobi. The Senju were one of the first to convert to the religion of Ninshu and were one of the first to procure the gifts and one of the first to go to war with another clan over territory. Although they remember fighting and even remember what the territory was they do not remember which clan it was. They do not remember the clan because in their early days whenever they beat a clan they would absorb the new clan into their ranks eliminating the clan from history. It is said that the clans of Konoha would have been double what they are now had the Senju clan not been so victorious in the past. The wars that the Senju fought were put on hold when the hermit of Ninshu rose to power. This was when the members of the clan started to diversify their knowledge and started sharing the abilities of each clan they assimilated among one another making them that much more of a powerful clan. This was also when they started to hold the clan leader competition as before the clan leader was passed down from father to son and a lot of the newer clans that were subjugated rallied against it. So in order to make it more fair each of the subjugated clans (which were called branches) would chose a victor to represent them and the last person standing would become the new leader. This went on for a very long time until the lines begun to be blurred with the who was from which branch and eventually it became anyone who wanted to be clan leader could take part and until the clan leader died there would be no more clan leader competitions (which were taken place once every four years before this). Eventually the fighting started again which made the current leader of the Senju very excited as he was a proud warrior who could not wait to prove himself in battle. His name was Hideki and he had been born with an ability that others in the clan called Mokuton it was a rare ability in the clan that had not been seen for hundreds of years and was considered to be a rumor. Hideki was cold and calculating and used this two fashion his clan into the warriors of old and giving them quite the reputation and a new nickname "Senju of the forest". Using the Mokuton ability to control the battlefield made it easier for the Senju to battle with their various skills and abilities. The Senju fought in the formation wars same as everyone else up until they ended and they started the fight with the Ten Tailed beast. Tragedy stroke when Hideki died during a fight with the actual beast having went after it instead of attacking the clones. This left the clan without a leader which meant that they would disappear from battle until they had a new leader. It did not take long as the new leader was elected quite easily with Hideki's son being named the new clan head. With the ten tailed battle having come to a conclusion Naoki had to decide what came next for the Senju clan but being only 18 years old the clan did not feel that he should choose this was mainly because they wanted to join the new ninja village that was being rumored about and Naoki thought it would be best for them to either stay apart or use the fact that they were one of the largest clans to start their own village. The rest of the clan thought him much to conceded and thought too much of himself and the clan. Because of this Naoki left the clan never to be heard from again and the Senju spent their focus on building the village up and decided not to replace Naoki for the time being although many clan members are asking for another clan leader competition. CLAN IDEOLOGY: -- The Senju pride themselves on versatility and individuality. Because of this the only true ideology of the clan is that of their nickname, which is Senju of a thousand skills. As such they endeavor to be as versatile as their nickname implies them to be, to the point where siblings purposely train in differing arts just to make sure that they do not end up becoming known for doing the same thing. This mind set has treated them very well over the years as the Senju have been known to develop genius level shinobi and pretty much every art known to ninja. Each individual Senju has their own belief system that they etch out through living their lives. This harbors their creativity in a unique way which increases the chances of the child being more individual and lessens the chances of a repeat skill set. While most clans relish in tried and true traditions and jutsu passed on from parent to child doing so within the Senju is akin to telling you child that they would never amount to anything. CLAN ABILITIES: -- Innate Ability The Senju were gifted with great talent however unlike most other clans their talent is not a shared thing and differs from each person. Their innate ability is something that they are drawn to from birth and can be pretty much anything. There have been some whose innate ability has made them unstoppable when it came to water jutsu and others who have mastered the use of weaponry. However it is not always a combat ability as the former clan leader Naoki had his ability in DNA knowledge, cultivation and manipulation. These innate abilities require an SA to be used if not taken the clan member is considered to have not found their innate ability. 1,000 Skills The Senju have prided themselves on their incredible skill with all things Shinobi. Because of their wealth of knowledge and long standing practice of making nothing but shinobi each member of the Senju clan has the innate ability to fight. This is the main reason that the Senju were so well reputed as shinobi. Also when combined with their innate ability it could make them incredibly powerful shinobi with unmatched fighting acumen. What this means is that they specialize in coming up with unique forms of combat never seen before usually tied to their own innate ability truly making them a clan with 1,000 skills. Mokuton The Kekkei Genkai that came from one of the several clans that the Senju clan absorbed into them is extremely rare. So rare that many believed it to be just a myth until Naoki's father showed signs of it. It is a Kekkei Genkai that mixed Suiton and Doton to create wood as well as various plants, from simple seeds to even flowering trees. Wood and plants can be produced from any surface, including the user's own body, as the user's chakra is literally converted into a source of life. Wood Release techniques are commonly affiliated with the Snake seal. Only one member of the Senju clan can be born with the Kekkei Genkai making it so that any member with wood release would need to be no older than 12 years old. CLAN HIERARCHY: -- The Senju clan has no real Hierarchy at all. At one point in time they had a clan leader ceremony that anyone could enter and was pretty much a free for all battle where the last man standing wins. That Clan Leader will continue to lead the clan until the day they die and stepping down is not an option. This system had a terrible drawback when the last Clan Leader an eighteen year old boy by the name of Naoki Senju decided to leave the clan. Since then the clan has had no clan leader ceremony and has been leaderless because of the old habit of not electing a new leader while the old one is still alive. However many members of the clan are calling for Naoki Senju to be considered dead as he had not been heard of since he left the clan due to them wishing to join Konoha.
